Currently own and daily an 08' Eclipse GS 5spd. Only reason I purchased it was because I got a good deal, and had a 97' Eclipse GST to play with at night and on the weekends.
Sold the DSM last year and bought an engagement ring. Luckily, my fiance likes "Race Cars", and wants me to buy something fun again. She's OBSESSED with the twins. So, currently saving to sell the Eclipse and put a decent down payment on an FR-S.
Not that it's a bad car, its actually a GREAT daily driver, but offers little to no aftermarket support. I mean, it's a SOHC, the only FI option is custom, and camber kits aren't available, so you can't even slam this thing without buying new tires every few months.

That said much different car from the 86.
I wasn't comparing 86 and WRX. I went from a new WRX to my FR-S

What I was saying is why would you spend $30k on an Eclipse when you could have a WRX of higher caliber for the same price. Hell at that price you are barking at the STi price range.

Yea I totally agree, and that's mostly what I was commenting on - that I'd much rather have a WRX for 30k (and, not sure who wouldn't unless your a big eclipse fanboy I guess...). Sorry if it came across wrong, sometimes I fail at talk.

Hopefully you do that soon, Mitsubishi here in the US is bankrupt or close to it so customer service for any Mitsu car will be a nightmare.

Exact reason I gave up on trying to find a decent Evo. Should be looking for an 86 come Summer. COULD do it now, but there's no way I could drive it stock.

Sorry, not in regards to acceleration. I'm quite satisfied with the cars performance as it sits. Not a fan of those blasted wheels or headlights. Also, needs moar low! Haha. I'd just rather save a bit now instead of max my cards later on. Plus, the woman says all spare monies goes towards wedding funds as soon as there's an FR-S in the garage.

You can get an early Eclipse for dirt cheap, they are pretty good cars.

Easy to mod, cheap fun.

But more of a cruiser, not a sports car.

A lot of people bash on them but if modded tastefully, just like a 90's civic, it can look really good.

Ah okay makes sense, sometimes I fail at reading (usually when there is to much blood in my blood stream and not enough caffeine)
