Twins vs My 2012 Eclipse SE
Hey guys I'm new to this forum but not new to the car forums. I'm a member of the Club4g.org and I bought my 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse SE 6 months ago. I love the looks and feels as it is my first car.
Before I bought the Eclipse I have heard the rumor of the Toyobaru Twin cars but I couldn't wait another 3~5 month to get an brand new car so I went with my affordable dream car. I paid total of 30k for the Eclipse. Just to let you know a little detail of the Eclipse. 162 HP and 132 WHP with FWD Auto 4 speed. I would love to try a 6speed manual tho. What you guys think? |

Not sure what exactly the question is but I think everyone here would agree hands down to pick the 86 over the eclipse.

The eclipse died a long time ago. Sorry man, shoulda shopped around more. For $30k you could have gotten a way better car.

I have seen pictures of this car (not yours in particular)--it looks nice, but I can't say I would want to pay $30k for a fully loaded one. This car still needs a lot of work to be relevant as a "sports car." So why did you post in this forum, what did you expect exactly? ![]() Maybe?

If you like the feel and looks of your eclipse, don't change, it'd be a waste. Secondly, if you like the looks and feel of an eclipse, I don't think you'll really appreciate the toyobaru. Does the four speed auto make you want to cry? If no, stick with it! If yes, shop, and check out the toyobaru.
I didn't realize anyone still made four speed autos... |

***I test drove a GT Eclipse a few years back and it was fairly quick, but it was just too heavy. It's a really nice cruiser/GT car, especially with a drop in the suspension...it's just not really meant for all out performance |

Believe it or not, nut 12 months ago I was looking at the Eclipse GT, I just couldn't understand the price tag. It was almost as much as my 370z.
Still though lets not trash his new car. It looks nice.

I think you made a big mistake. The 3g Eclipse is outdated, boring, slow, and overpriced. No offense, but you asked what we thought, and this is what I think. I think you could find more enjoyment in a hundred other cars besides the Eclipse, starting with an FR-S/BRZ.

Had a '06 4G Eclipse GT "Eve". Sunset Pearlescent, D2 suspension, intake, etc. etc. Sold all of the extras separate.
Although it was a great car, and I loved it, I don't regret one moment trading it in for my "Fiona" - Firestorm FR-S 6MT. Here was the day it was traded... |
