i think i ran past a post mentioning the car's VIN is located on the trunk lid. Can anyone confirm?

This is true. You can see it through the glass without even opening the trunk. Subaru doesn't have a spoiler delete option, unfortunately. They should really look into that.

If they're saavy they won't have to look very far to realize it should have a standard spoiler. However if you go with a different spoiler, someone that saavy will probably appreciate the value of the better spoiler, so it's a wash.

I was not a fan of the BRZ spoiler initially, almost got a premium to keep the clean lines of the rear, but wanted the limited package for the other things, and after initially planning to replace it with Carsmo/TRD, the stock spoiler has now grown on me and I think I will keep it.

Seeing a BRZ spoiler in person has made me like it even more, I like it a lot better when youre driving and looking at it in different angles. Pictures dont do the spoiler any justice.
