Limited + no rear wing?

do you think subaru will let give me a discount if I asked for no wing and limited. LOL.

I think the wing on the limited is not that good looking.

the wing on the limited is not a dealer installed option. it comes with it from the factory

anything coming from the factory you cant really take out

I'm sure you could find someone willing to trade trunk lids. Seems like there's a lot of people without the wing who want it and vice versa.

(photo) document a swap with wingless trunk and you should be good to go.

Silly question.... But would the auto unlock key fob work on a swapped premium brz or frs trunk?

Calidrifter 02-28-2013 05:52 AM

Yes, the valance with the badge and electronics can be removed which you should definitely do if swapping with an FR-S.

Yes, where the scion/subaru rear badge is, that plastic piece is removable and you can swap your trunk button (premium doesnt have a button under trunk) and still have that feature. I think the sensor is also in there.

I was just about to post such a thread! I asked my dealer as I am just about to place my order. Unfortunately you can't pick apart the limited package which I found odd since the wing is a $600 option aside.

Looks like I'll remove, weld/ fill/ paint my deck lid, and sell the OEM-L wing in the classifieds. All that effort to run a 5 axis :bellyroll:

Any BRZ owners here take off the OEM spoiler and installed one of the lip spoilers? I think i may want to remove the OEM spoiler down the road but not sure if some of the lip spoilers will cover up the holes from the OEM wing.

Carsmo and TRD lip spoilers cover the holes from the Limited spoiler.

I kinda like it... but to each their own. I think swapping it would be less hassle than removing it, filling holes, and paint...

SLICVIC 03-02-2013 01:30 AM

yeah, vinyl circle decals to plug the holes and another wing to cover everything up haha

If you do a swap. Be sure to document it like chulooz stated. You could lose some resell value if the person buying the car is savvy enough to check the VIN of the trunk. (may look like an accident repair).

May even want to get it noterized

I'm not crazy about the wing on the limited either but if I had it I'd feel a bit daft getting rid of it since it's a functional spoiler that reduces the drag coefficient. By 0.01, but still it's something unlike what we typically see from OEM spoilers.

Every little bit counts.
