anytime you reflash the throttle can feel muddy, usually goes away in a few days/drive cycles/after 1st 100 miles

if there is indeed a update for your ECU and they tell you they cannot perform it , I would assume it would be one of the following

1.) When your vehicles VIN is pulled up on their computers "vehicle inquiry" and there is no existing recalls/tsb's under the vin it is not possible to do the update because it may have been performed before delivery of the vehicle to the dealership or simply because it does not effect the batch of cars from a certain VIN range.

2.) Promised time they give you to do all service on your vehicle is not enough time for them to do the update. seeing how you wanted to leave and get food maybe they were under the impression that you didn't want to wait much longer for the update at the time.

Sure, I was hungry, but I never made any mention to my consultant about being in any kind of a rush

They came to me after 90 minutes to tell me they couldn't do the update.

call the service manager , if the service manager doesn't answer leave a message for him/her to call you back.

try not to put heat on the service advisor because there may be an explanation on why they could not perform the update. If the manager asks you to come in and they'll do the update this visit around. try to make a compromise , free oil change for your time, discount on your next service.

what people fail to remember is that not all dealerships are out to screw you over, because essentially you have the power to put them down the drain. The survey you get in the mail or email when you fill it out from 1-10 greatly impacts the service advisor / technician / dealership. So they will try anything to keep you happy :happy0180: good luck man!

and be sincere and don't get taken advantage of. , its always easier for people to work with other people who are understanding, but not up to a point where the customer is being taken advantage of.

Oh man, I don't know if that's possible XD I'm perpetually unhappy. Seriously

But, I'll call and see if the service manager can shed some light on things. Can't hurt to try at least. Honestly, after the way my car felt, I'd rather not have them EVER touch my car's computer EVER AGAIN XD

So, you don't think the car has improved to its original unmolested state?

How many miles have you driven it since they worked on it?

You're really in NY? Because if you're anywhere near me in the Midwest, I'd be glad to check out your car for you. Maybe you just need some reassurance...

It must be uncomfortable feeling as you do about your new car.

It's really hard to say

I've put 150 miles on it since having it serviced. It's kind of hard to say if it's better, or I'm used to it

that sucks man, just go through the process. talk to the manager, if the manager can't make you happy talk to the district manager. and if you have to talk to the president of your dealerships company.

the dealership i work at . if i can't help a customer and my manager cant help the customer we will get the president involved just so we can make the consumer happy.

After 150+ miles I would think your car has reset its systems.

Here’s what I’d do. Record some objective measurements with a stopwatch.

Find a quiet, country road if possible; it should be one that you can use again after your car is finally updated with the new ECU programming. See that there are no Enforcers around.

Record timed full-throttle runs:

2nd gear: 16–59 mph @ 2000–7400 rpm

3rd gear: 23–83 mph @ 2000–7400 rpm

Hold the revs at 2000 rpm, then simultaneously floor the throttle and start the stopwatch. Stop the watch at 7400 and slow down. Do a few runs to get an average time.

If possible turn around and do the same runs in reverse to account for wind and grade. Note the temperatures, wind speed data, and humidity from the ‘Net weather sources.

Log all this data.

When your car is fixed, repeat the tests on the same stretch of road. The main objective is to keep the tests as consistent as possible.

Compare the data from the Before and After tests.

And then return to this thread and tell us about it, please.

I can confirm this is from the ECU reset. The throttle will be back to normal after about 50 miles of driving.
