I just can image how insane that thing would look fully polished.

It's awesome that they chose the TVS series. They are really efficient and have a big power range. For instance, the TVS900 has a max flow of 1000m^3/hr or about 406HP. It's a bit on the small side but it's still be perfect because that's almost exactly what our cars would make on 14.7psi of boost.

I doubt it, but if they went with the TVS1320, then we'd see a max flow of 1400m^3/hr which equals a max of 568HP. That'd be nuckin' futz. We'd have to have forged everything and a 8.5:1 CR because that much flow would mean we'd be at 29psi of boost.

BP

depending on the pulley of course! a 1320 at 11 psi should be good for about 330-350whp if using a lotus elise 1.8L at 11.1 compression is a decent example. i could see our car putting down around the same with a much lower Redline (1000 less) and probably 10 psi (1320's peak efficiency). 29 psi and you are making way too much heat. and imo this engine will never need to be dropped below 10.5:1 or even 11:1 compression for boost. no sense in losing throttle response.

This is a super built for a specific race car if I understand correctly.

The released TRD super for the FJ Cruiser looked like this:

Notice the fit and finish, it was also a 45 minute install. That's what Toyota does.

The TRD supercharger for the 1st gen tC's yielded a measly ~40hp increase, if memory serves me--and they wanted thousands for it.

Big difference between the TC and the FR-S though.. two different markets, two different sets of expectations. I doubt Toyota would release anything for the FR-S that doesn't live up to the standards of a sports car.

Yeah, it's all about flow. That 1320 would be nuts. You'd have instant boost right off idle.

With those dual intercooler cores, they are planning for big power with future upgrades. I could still see them only have 60-80HP gain in a stock setup just because they have to keep the warranty. But even with the .9L TVS, you've got enough flow for 400HP at the crank. Tons of room for growth for the tuners.

thats very pretty much it. though idle - 2000rpm efficiency would be absolutely terrible. the R900:.9L can flow 400hp but is not efficient in doing it. again no more than 10ish psi is going to run peak efficiency and that could feasibly be around 250whp.
