Not sure how much I can contribute since I have trouble committing time, but I would definitely be down to be a paying member and to buy merch, too.

Figured I would update the info and give it a bump. Once again this is more of a meeting then a meet and hopefully figure out what we are going to do with this whole club thing and hopefully get someone to be the leader of the club. If you have any problems or concerns about the meeting spot or time feel free to speak. If not then see you guys in a week or at the torrance meet

The first thing we need to establish is what is the purpose of this club. I'll throw out an idea here and if anyone has any suggestions, comments or additions to our purpose as a club please post it up and we can finalize it at the March 2nd meeting.
Purpose of SoCal 86 Club: To provide a respectful and inviting gathering of FR-S, BRZ, and GT86 owners and enthusiasts in the Southern California region. To develop a network of knowledge, experience, and ideas to share while growing the over-all enthusiasm for the car culture. We work together to fund raise and plan meets, track days, and other gatherings centered around the Toyota 86, Scion FRS, and Subaru BRZ. Some things we should consider before we meet: 1. Should we charge enrollment or annual dues? 2. Should we have sponsors? 3. What officers should we elect (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer)? 4. How long should each officer's term be? 5. Should we have regional membership restrictions (can somebody in Ohio join)? 6. Aside from officers, what should the responsibilities of other members be? |

@that_one_guy, great points.. I can't make it.. Im Moving to Las Vegas on the first, but as I've been trying to get meets and canyon runs going and always seemed to fall through.. I think before dues, pres, and vp and all is even talked about there should at least be some consistent meets.. 3,4-5 meets then start talking about this stuff with the members that show up to the majority of them.. True some can't make every meet.. But if one guy just shows up to one meet then what's the point of having that member running anything in the club and should just be a regular member.. It sucks I've been wanting to do this stuff since aug when I got my car, but hopefully the Vegas club and so cal club can come together a lot.. That meet at evasive was great and a lot of fun.. A lot of great guys from both areas..

3. I think we just need a leader and vice leader from what it looks like right we can get about 10 to 20 members off the bat. 4. I think a term should be 2 years 5. Only guys from SD to San Jose can join cause after san Jose most guys are closer to nocal than socal. As for club meets it should not be a problem all the regular guys (they know why they are) are always at crossroads, Irvine meet, sfv meet, evasive, tour of la, scion to sema, etc..... |

I'm in the same boat as HotLeopardMama, Joe. Work and eh... Non-work... obligations fill up my schedule more often than I'd like. But I'd definitely be down to rep the club and rock the merchandise (happily purchased, of course) to get the club off the ground.
I came from the world of graphic design/apparel design too, so I'd be happy to dedicate what time I can in those areas, as well. So if you need an assist, holler and I'll take a crack at it.
