Yeah. I borrowed one for the first drive and bought some before the last one but couldn't stay for it. The first and last car in the caravan always need one, then spread out any extras.

Totally. I was the rear car at one point last time, and I was scared some slow Prius would cut me off and I would get lost.

I'm down for a meet up in Lake De Valle. Would make things a whole lot easier for going up there. Looks like it'd be easy enough to find to. Could probably also do some sort of camping if people were interested idk. Wouldn't be to hard to pack up a tent in the trunk.

Just to throw a stick, but what do you guys think of Dublin Toyota playing host? Easy to get to and Hacienda there, those with SOs and wives won't feel guilty with shopping, dining, and movies after. Heck even the new Livermore outlets are near by.

Sure, don't have a problem with that.

I'm not saying that's you at all, that's just how I feel about it.
I can understand driving 73 miles each way for a meet, but to get to the same location in Novato would take me 151 miles each way (from Merced).

I don't think anyone was really complaining. I don't mind driving it, myself. However, I think it what is being shared is that would be pretty fair to spread it around a little.

Just thought I'd also add that I would love to hang out with the Bay Area peeps when they have their brief meet-ups, but my schedule gets so jammed up that my attendance would be stopping, saying "hi", then driving home. Yeah, it sucks sometimes.

Agreed. So go make an event in the Central Valley and invite us! Nothing is stopping you!

Wow, Blaine. Nobody is trying to "get in your face", or demanding the location to be in the Central Valley. We'd just like it to be closer, and East Bay does the trick for a lot of us. Me included. I don't think there is a need to get so snarky with this.

We are all in this club for the same reason. We love our cars. It's been a pretty friendly group of people without much attitude.

I don't know if we've met in person. I missed the Novato meet because I fell ill, but I'd guess you're a pretty cool person overall. Relax a bit here. There are far more important things in life than where we meet for an auto club gathering.

I think people just misinterpret my tone on the internet. Sorry if it came off strong.

I was just using concise words. This thread is about potential sites for the meet not areas. Honestly if you know any good East Bay spots you should post them up. If not this time we should do something in the Livermore/Dublin/580 area for all the people out that way and beyond. It's not my "hood" and know nothing about the area at all!

I wish I knew the area better. I just moved to the Central Valley from San Diego a few years back.

+2, great. I'll pay the cust rep a visit ASAP. What I plan to propose to her is some dedicated space in around the dealership for us to congregate and to BBQ.

And that is why I think Lake De Valle is perfect. Middle ground with a good split for easy access for everyone to get back home.

But also, lets remember this is a Nor Cal meet, not a bay area meet. Eventually we will be driving the same roads we do all the time and need new ground. I mean, would a "rouge" meet in like Sac be out of the question at some point? The foothills have some nice drives for sure (Hwy 49 comes to mind, and can be as long as you would like. haha. ) I get coming to the masses is the case most often, but every once in a while it is nice to work to try and include everyone/make it a bit easier (north of Sac, central CA, etc) :happy0180:

Just food for thought, I still like Lake De Valle like I started this post with. I don't want to totally derail the thread.
