Just talked to them. They will cover it if it doesn't look like i took a mallet to it and since there isn't even scratches and two brand new rims I might be good

It sounds like you're setting yourself up to get denied and screwed on both ends which is on your hands as you are the one at fault here.

The longer you drag this out with the insurance company, the less likely they are going to pay. Who knows what happens between the time of the accident and the time the adjuster assesses the damage. Tampering with the parts affected gives them ammo to deny your claim. Was your shop responsible for doing something with the car? How long did you drive the vehicle while damaged? On a bent rim? Oh you changed your rim? For how long? Oh, if you have a new rim, we aren't paying for your rim that your buddy signed off on from the dealer.

See? I can be stupid like an adjuster too. Again, the longer the claim goes on, the more muddled it becomes and the more likely they get the upper hand. Dealing with insurers is like dealing with HIV. The longer you ignore it, the worse it's going to get.

On the otherhand, Subaru techs, as dumb as people make them out to be, have probably seen stuff like this before. If you slammed your wheels hard enough against the curb to bend a wheel and pop both tires off one side, they can probably trace the damage and won't pay a cent. Bent control arms, tie rods, dampers, something took the force of the hit and it won't be consistent to a car that's not hit anything. In the event that they did find that you are at fault, your warranty will do squat.

So in your post that makes a lot of sense, should I put my tires back on in my driveway and just call the insurance? They said I could make the claim after I try an alignment and try Subaru but you are right subie will know those aren't the rims that were on the car when it hit whatever.

I can tell the insurance I got a buddy to come out and loan a rim to get me home. Which is 100% true, he wants his rims back. But should I even try Subaru? If I say pot hole, wouldn't the sensors but not suspension be covered?

I was talking about this with a buddy this morning and his friend did the same thing but ice is what cause him to slide into the curb. He took it to subie and they said that the control arm was bent and their were none in the states so he is still waiting.

So subie was nice to him, so should i try subie or put my tires on and call the insurance.

This should all be done though insurance. None of it should go through Subaru since it's not a warranty claim. You hit something and stuff broke, that's not a fault of the manufacturer. Insurance will cover everything, new tires as well I believe, and you'll be out your deductible and in some cases, some depreciation from wear on the old tires.

Just let your insurance handle it. If you nailed a curb hard enough to blow out two tires and ruin a wheel there is probably suspension damage, alignment problems, etc. Repair work is expensive, a $500 deductible is the least of your worries. Drop in the pot compared to potentially spending a couple grand fixing shit on your own dime.

Definitely insurance and $500 deductible is the way to go. This will be a comprehensive claim to your insurance. It sounds like you will need at least 2 wheels, 2 tires, some sensors, and possibly multiple suspension pieces.

Well I brought it in to subie yesterday and told them unless its just an alignment, insurance will be called. They called me yesterday at 430ish and said call your insurance cause some bolt is missing a nut and the bolt bent and to call my insurance. I drove up there and fixed it. Nothing looked bent. Told them to get it on an alignment machine and let me know. Should know in a couple hours. I'm still calling insurance to get a check for the two rims and tires, to cover the $90 diagnostics, and whatever labor time, and if there is anything else then that to. My Evo had a bad steering sensor and it was able to be reflashed and it was fine, hopefully the same for the brz. Got a rally meet in 2 weeks. And I'm ordering my rims like now lol was getting a quote the day this happened.

Everything fixed. Nothing bent, cept two rims, and she is back up and running.
