Thumbs down Takeda exhaust rusting...UPDATE P.4

Hi guys,

My Takeda exhaust is rusting! I received it in December and it is now rusted quite hard....also, I think there is a loss . I'll to a garage asap to find out, but just want to know if you guys had bad experiences with Takeda exhaust or products?

Thank you!

Do you have pictures yet? Are we talking about surface rust or there's a hole in it or a weld is falling apart?

This is why I buy USA made products from Perrin and Nameless.... I did buy the aFe Intake though which was nice, but I like my Perrin more. I don't trust the overseas companies on exhausts unless it is an Amuse.

LOL I saw that too - wasn't sure if it was rust or dirt. If rust, not sure where he got all that iron deposit, I swear it was clean when I sold it to him!

OP - can you throw up some pics? Also, what do you mean you think there's a loss?

Yeah, but this was agift from my husband lol....he relly make a lot of searches on the different types of exhaust and thought this one was the best for the sound (I didn't want something too loud) and its conception.

I don,t think Takeda is a bad company and I hope they will do something.....shit can hapen, I just want to make sure it is not all their exhausts

This being said, the Nameless exhaust is relly nice!

Yeah, depending on what Takeda does about it should be your deciding factor. Hopefully they take care of you and replace it. If not, give you a refund and buy a Nameless Off-set axleback which isn't very loud and pocket some of the refund at the same time while you get an extremely high quality axleback built. Not saying it is rust proof, but it sure will outlast most of the overseas exhausts in terms of rust.

By the way, the Takeda exhaust is designed and made in California.

OP again - if it's just surface rust, get yourself some Stainless Steel cleaner or some other mild cleanser and a soft sponge, should be able to buff that right out. I've used Bar Keepers Friend on my stainless weber grill that gets surface rust from sitting outside all year long and it's worked well.

+1 for barkeeper's friend. It removes discoloration and grime from stainless better than anything I've used.

This is for cookware, but there's no reason it wouldn't work the same miracles here. Much safer than using scotchbrite on a polished surface.

Legitimate stainless (304 and 316) should last forever in water, but enough salt + time will leave it pitted. Considering it's currently 25-40 deg F in Belgium, I'm going to guess you have seen some snow this winter and that they salted the roads (not the case everywhere).

Wrong Saint-Hubert I think - Quebec if I'm not mistaken. That said, your temperature range still holds true.
