Can they? Is the tein shock shaft that much larger in diameter? Why is a monotube better than a twin-tube?

Using coilovers with the name 'stance' at a track just sounds like pure trouble. LOL.

Don't let brand name fool you. Ohlins DFV... IMO, ride on the Ohlins name, without offering anything special. Their TTX series on the other hand is good stuff.

Similarly, the JRZ RS-one is a waste of time, IMO. The RS is a twin tube, while the RS-Pro is a monotube.

Unless you need a specific type of shock and/or packaging for racing/classing, get the best you can afford.
Would you pass on the newly released Ohlins then? Up to this point, I'm 95% ready to order, but if you think I can get something different that's equal or better (in quality and performance) for a little cheaper (read: perhaps better value for the dollar), I'm all ears. I'm not interested in competitive track racing, just occasional fun weekends (10% track, 90% street).

--^ I'm only a casual track day guy, and I couldn't justify the Ohlins if I wasn't tracking the car *all the time*. I can barely justify spending the $$ on V3s without going to at least 3-4 track days per year.

I chose the Eibach R2. You may want to look into that. They're a little more expensive than the V3 but still cheaper than the Tein SRC.

@Jackson is also working on including the dyno sheets for each shock that gets shipped out. Obviously it would be pretty easy to just print some random dyno sheet up, but it wouldn't be too hard before the consumers find out, especially in a large community such as this.

you can simply fit more fluid in one big tube than you can in the two smaller ones. that yields lower temps and less stress from the fluids resulting in longer life and less hysteresis. i think one of the drawbacks is that because youre dealing with more fluid moving slower, the precision of the valving needs to be more precise. its why tein offers that microvalve thing on some of their monotube designs

start with is it double adjustable and are the valves in different locations. also be careful on the mono vs double they both have their place and pros/cons most upsidedown monos use a 18mm shaft which "displaces" only about 1/8th the fluid of a 24mm shaft found in alot of doubles...and it is displacement or oil movement that provides the energy to resist/dampen movement.

In all reality, spending the money on seat time is the most important factor. If that variable is mostly mitigated, then returns on suspension will REALLY start to show.
Wise words!!!!

I would never pay that kind of money for Teins or Ohlins.
How are you gonna put Teins in the same sentence with Ohlins. Pricepoint and the fact they offer it for the FR-S/BRZ is awesome thing. I've ran Ohlins 25mm fork cartridges, steering dampers and PR shocks on my motorcycles and they shine on the track; when the heat and friction become your worst enemy.

Is there even a TTX spec available for the FR-S/BRZ? I thought it was only the R/T.

I've ran Ohlins on my R6 race bike at Miller, Willow Springs, Buttonwillow, Laguna Seca and California Speedway. This is by far one of the best suspensions I've ever ran. Doing speeds of over 120mph leaned over, the bike always felt planted!

Aside for the lack of service in the US or even from Feal, any feedback on the Hipermax IV GT?
