Max Perf tires will wear quicker, but given large void area, they aren't losing any more hydroplaning resistance at a given level of wear.
I have Pilot Super Sports, too, on my RX-7. The 275/35-18 rears have a TON of void area percentage. the 245/40-17 fronts have less void ratio, but still a lot. I'd put my money on these tires against similar size all-seasons for hydroplaning resistance. But of course, *obviously* they wear quicker and need to be replaced sooner. In the meantime, greater wet and dry grip vs. any all-season! |

I went with BFG G-force sport comp-2, can't really give any real opinion on wear yet cuz i've only had them on the car for about 2000-2500 miles. However for how they are now i have had absolutely no issues in either rain or dry they are just really really grippy.

Picked up the new baby today. Will definitely be taking it easy while I learn how the car reacts, but everything is very smooth and I love the way it drives so far.

Yep Kearny Mesa Scion. Rich Manas is the man. Been in contact with him off and on since the FR-S was first announced. Was going to get one upon original release, but ended up buying a condo instead. With current circumstances, I felt if I bought anything else (lower) it would just be filler and I would regret not getting the FR-S. Guy is a stand-up salesman and did his best to get me one as soon as possible after the wreck. I recommend him highly.

At least all the scion fwd race car skilled drivers are getting FRS's so my BRZ insurance rate should stay low.
