...agreed, price is about the only thing that can be compared.

I like the new SS. Granted Chevy's dash looks terrible. Also the price is around 38K

I think theyve already admitted it wont hold at the $30K estimates, its probably moved into the $45K segment. Handling Vs Power, Compact Vs Family, Economical Vs Thirsty... Both cool rigs.

Would buy as my highway cruiser. Really though, I'm looking for a used LS 4xx to fill that role.

The problem with GM is they like to use old technology and just refine it over the years but it's still old technology, they got rid of Pontiac, they like to waste money and then ask for a bailout from the government hence the name government motors and the government owns more than 50% of GM. Hell even the new Corvette Stingray uses a pushrod V8 instead of a DOHC engine, they cut corners every chance they get. Honda makes mostly commuter cars with one sporty car thats lost its magic, Nissan is doing pretty much the same. I have a feeling the GTR and 370Z will be shown the door soon.

If the second article is the real thing, then the appearance is very boring. At least the G8 had great styling going for it. This looks like a dated Malibu/Impala. I am not impressed at all in that category. LS3 is a good choice but, the weight of the car is obviously quite heavy. 0-60 in nearly 5 seconds? With that much power, I would expect much better results (not implying 0-60 is the only measure of performance).
It is hard for me to say, but I do not like any of the vehicles Chevrolet produces currently. The C7 is not that great IMO. I would not have labeled it a "Stingray". The Camaro is garbage. This vehicle solidifes my opinion even more. Of course, I'm not part of the group saying the twins are a "God's gift" car either. |

No I'm not, its really more like 60% ownership. I was saying the Chevrolet SS is an old technology vehicle attempting to appear to be brand new. The SS does not compare to the BRZ which is modern technology, granted the BRZ is not as fast as the SS but it is still a better car in general.

Better car is very dependent on what you are doing with the car. There isn't really anything revolutionary about the BRZ or FR-S either. The SS does achieve almost 50/50 weight distribution. To me the SS is generally a failure because 1) It's auto only and not even with a good automatic 2) The styling sucks 3) It will probably weigh close to 4000 lbs 4) The price will creep up to $38-45K |
