Interesting......good catch. Looks like a good oil based undercoat will be required after all, even though I'm not driving it in the winter.

Ive seen quite a few threads regarding missing plugs. Ive searched relentlessly for all of them, but I cannot seem to find any more information. Can anyone point out all the plugs that should have been installed in the cars so that I can check? The last thing I want over the next 5+ years of ownership is rust forming

This seems different from the plug issue. Is this a welding defect or just lack of undercoating, or both?!?!

In terms of rust - I thought all modern cars were fully dipped in some sort of sealant. You can find videos online on entire chassis on assembly lines being submerged in what I think is sealant.

Can anyone second the OP's finding on a different car?

I seen the hole on mine too. Time to call up Subaru and make them aware of this. Help the cause....

Yeah i got mass salt water debris inside that panel on the plus side added an Infinity 6.5 in the door as well as dynamat extreme the doors entire floor and rear qtr cavity. Its night and day!

I will rip mine apart tomorrow when it's warmer out. Im getting a "feels like" temp of 26 deg F in fucking alabama right now. No bueno.

Thats not good, if I was up north like I use to be and driving this car in winter I would be pissed,....salt will eat this car alive in those areas.
