It may require some tugging a bit, but it will eventually pop out.

On another note, I worked a little more on this last night. I also confirmed via the STI part number on my switch that my switch is in fact the one for Impreza models. Japan parts sells the BRZ button, but you have to be sure to select the ZC6 before adding it to your card to have the right one.

Because I get mine elsewhere, I had to be a little creative to get mine to work. Eventually, I just decided to sauter some jumper to the pins on the button and connect them to the female connector. It works and looks great!

I am a little concerned that I cannot get the red LED illumination to go off when the car is shut off. I plugged my stock USDM button in and it did the same thing (stays on even with power off). Since an LED pulls low voltage, Im not too concerned about it. But can someone please confirm for me whether their stock button stays illuminated all the time?

Thanks!
Thanks bro. I followed your directions and it worked perfect!

Ok I just ordered. I did not see any "drop down" selections on japanparts.com. I just did a search on. ST83031ST020 and ordered it.

Hope I got it right. Looks very cool - can't wait.

I just realized the drop down after I placed my order. I sent them an email and asked to change to #20 ZC6

Hope I get an email Monday confirming I'm getting the right one.

Isn't it awesome? My matching shift knob is teh baus. Didn't even mess with painter's tape, no scratches installing mine a few months ago.

Eh, couldn't find a WC Lathewerks knob I liked. That's heavy as hell though; I felt a different moving up 80g from the stock knob.

The added weight will probably effect 0-60 times . What does the stock one weigh?

Less than 200g; between 170g and 190g. STI aluminum knob for MT weighs 260-280g. Scale I used wasn't particularly accurate...

I just got my BRZ, and am having tons of trouble taking out the lower console. I've tried removing the lower passenger knee pad, and sticking my fingers/screwdriver in there to help push the lower console, but can't apply enough force to push it out. I can't even get enough grip to pull the lower console out.

I have a Canadian BRZ model, so the USB portion of that console is located in the glovebox instead.

Anyone in Toronto available to help me with this? I don't mind driving around the GTA too. I think I might just have to go to a subaru dealer to get this installed.
