wow... you guys DO know that airbags can be raised right? that's kind of the point. If he has them raised all the way up, i'm sure everyone will start complaining that he needs a drop lol.

hellaflushstanceillestwhatever... no one really likes excessive wheel gap (except maybe rally drivers). How you choose to get rid of that is totally up to you! Just don't do this...

The white one probably does handle better than stock, until the stretched tires come off the rims going around hard corners. Simply unsafe

Probably more likely to get hit by a car crossing the street, than that happening.

Stretched tires unsafe? Not this argument again... (-_-)

The stretch on both these cars are no where near extreme

Tires should be considered the most important safety feature on any car

I consider ignoring tire manufacturers recommended rim widths unsafe. I am not arguing, simply stating an opinion.

Hahahahahahaha. You've clearly never driven a car with stretched tires, nor tried to mount/dismount them.

I've autox'ed with 215/45/17's on 17x10's.... And air. And placed in the top 10 of the day......

Yeah. Super unsafe.

But WHY would you want to drive around on stretched tires that are too narrow for the wheel?

Are you so confident they perform so well that you would risk it at a real road course? Autocross and road course are apples and oranges.

A lot of people are speaking without experience unfortunately. I have seen super stretched tires on a large rim that held their own quite nicely on mountain roads. Not to mention this was on an E39 540I, not the lightest of vehicles. Not that I would do this myself, but it can be done and has been done.

Unless people are paying for these upgrades, stop suggesting how these owners should be spending or wasting their money. Everyone is different, and we customize to our personalities. People should respect that and not put down others with different ideas and perspectives.

Stretched tires kill babies.

On a serious note, if you regularly check tire pressure then they will be fine. My brother drove his car with stretched tires last winter in snow/icey roads and he didn't have any problems.

When you look at most of the driftcars out there most of them run agressive wheels with stretched tires.
