Just joined and started lurking a couple days ago! The wheels are 18x8.5/10 and Tires are I believe are 215/35 and 225/40 Thanks for all the nice comments and the pictures did turn out awesome (AJ is the best). If someone doesn't like the look of my car for the appearance of it (i.e. too low, don't like the wheels, and so on), thats totally ok. I completely understand that this look isn't for everyone. What does bother me is when people make false statements about the car being ruined or whatnot. People forget the fact that its not 2003 anymore and air ride just like conventional springs have been developed. And this is where Im gonna get the argument... "SHOW ME A RACECAR WITH AIRRIDE" Im sure there are a few but THIS IS NOT A RACECAR! This is supposed to be a very fun to drive street car, thats it. And the air ride fit my needs perfect. The dampening adjustable Airlift Performance Kit with fully adjustable top hats and a threaded body to adjust exactly where you want the car to sit. The thing handles like its on rails and I can go wherever I want without worrying about being too low which in Chicago is pretty tough. Last edited by FI5H; 02-04-2013 at 06:13 PM. Reason: I said fully 8 times and it sounded stupid... |

the pictures look good. What exactly are you guys driving through? Some sort of magical tunnel made for photoshoots?
I'm not a fan of this stance scence at all though. I'm not sure when it happened or who woke up one day and decided this would be a good idea. Then of course america jumps on the next big thing, so all the front-runners whorship it. I just dont understand it at all... But I can't argue doing what you want with your car. |

White one is way too sunken for my taste. @ill roller 's BRZ is as low as I'd ever go. Just looks... just looks weird, man.
to use RSD's car as an example, this $#!t is my jam! Plenty low enough, looks good not ghetto, and 100% functional.

1/2" drop? Needs more, don't have to go crazy but that barely looks lowered.

The "stance scene" and STANCE the brand of suspension components are completely unrelated.

I'm pretty sure that Stance the company has a target market for people that want the "Stanced" look, why else would they name it that?
http://jaydawg808.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Stance-Your-Car After reading the above article I just can't wrap my head around how these two cars in this photo shoot wouldn't fit right in any of the mentioned "Stance" scene blogs. I don't see the point in denying it just because some people here don't like it. |

"You achieve aggressive fitment by utilizing stretched tires, low offset and wide wheels. In order to tuck your tires into your fenderwell and have your wheels sit flush with the fender line, you need to have a stretched tire." The red car is not tucking the rim, nor poking, nor running excessive stretch. His fitment looks pretty good. The white one, and im going to put this in caps as it seems to have been stated numerous times in this thread yet no one is getting it, IS ON AIR SUSPENSION, u see the rear camber? U know how suspension works? U know what happens when he raises the car up (hence AIR SUSPENSION) to a normal "streetable" ride height? Thats right, the camber is reduced significantly... [ame]http://youtu.be/RZXFFNOG5oU[/ame] Stock rims/tires/camber... But wait! Look at 0:42!! Ermagherdddd!! The stock wheels = "stanced" the cars "ruined"!!! O... Wait.... No... Its AIR SUSPENSION.... |

the red brz is on 18x9.5 +38 size wheels, by no means a "stanced" ride, actually it seems to be the choice size for many of the frs/brz/86 tuners are choosing in japan for handling purposes.
Several competitive drivers in time attack, w2w, and pretty much every drift series in existence are on STANCE coilovers and I highly doubt many of them even know what a stance scene is. Of course some run custom valved setups that suit their needs but many run off the shelf products. I will also mention that I am quite biased towards their suspension components ^_~ Regardless, both these cars suit each others individual style, they handle better than stock and are up to par with what each driver wanted, and the coolest thing, both these cars will see plenty of hard driving and track time (or else Im yelling at them) haha |
