Yep.. the cobra started out as a girls car too (AC ace)
Quote:
1961 AC Ace-Bristol (upon which the Cobra was based) Production 1962–1963 Engine 260 cu in (4.3 L) V8 Wheelbase 90 in (2,286 mm) Length 151.5 in (3,848 mm) Width 61 in (1,549 mm) Height 49 in (1,245 mm) Curb weight 2,019 lb (916 kg.
You all see how that turned out. lol

As said above, if you're confident and happy with your wang and love small speedy roadsters.. buy one, you'll not regret it! Especially now as na/nb cars can be had pretty cheaply.

If you have a stupid hangup about what others think.... well I feel sorry for you, there's lots of things in life that you're going to miss out on.

I want to dump a v8 into one.. I think that would be a stupid amount of fun

With all the miata love how do they hold up? Seems like they are resonable to pick up 5 speeds with barley over 100k.

I wouldn't buy one. I too think they are very feminine in appearance, but that doesn't take away from their performance. I hear they are excellent cars to drive and I respect them for that. I especially enjoy seeing the V8 miatas that are scattered around the internet. That would be one hell of a hoonin' car.

I own one, and I'm 26... with a full head of hair. Couldn't care less what people think of it, its "manly" enough for me... now if it was pink and had hello kitty stickers on it then maybe I'd think differently.

Yep, the Miata is a tad feminine. The only one that I've seen that isn't is the one at SEMA 2011, and it's the only one I'd ever consider owning.

No Miata, no S2000, no Z3, no CLK, no Solice and......no Fr-S.
Bet a lot of FRS owners used to own one of the above.

I find miatas look cute and girly, but in a good way. NA, especially NB, show off the curves and I love that! I was looking into late year NB models, but decided on FR-S due to age factor. So I love Miatas and will always have a place for them in my heart!
(for the record, I'm not gay, married and 27 with hair ).

Go drive one around the track and it will change your mind almost instantly. If it was not for that car the BR-Z FR-S would not exist. I consider the miata one of the best driver cars of all times. People associate the brand scion with ghetto people doing chrome wheels and loud sound systems in their cars, while this probably accounts for 80% of Scion buyers there is that 20% that chose to buy a FR-S because of its driving dynamics. So saying that all scion owners are just posers into sound systems, neon lights, and chromie homies would be wrong. Of course you will see older men in miatas as well as chics, but you will also see them at the track racing and modified beyond belief.

Feminine?

Feminine could be anything, just saying.....

OR....

I have driven a 300hp turbo'd variant around Road America. It was a good driver's car, but it still looks very feminine...kind of like the Porsche Boxster.

Also, to say that the Twins wouldn't exist if not for this car is a little ridiculous. For all we know, the Twins might have existed in the absence of this car to fill the need for small, lightweight, RWD driver's cars.

Nope!! My uncle has one and even though I had to wedge myself in and out of that thing, it's a fun little car!

Proof that it can run with the big dogs!
