Ex: Show a picture of the rubber piece in the end, no question which way to put it in.

More lego-ish instructions or some close-up shots on the steps :P I was like "I've built a motor and this is way more a PITA..."

Still, parts are aaaaaaawesome.

I believed the same way you did on identification. Please see my pix on post #658 of this thread (page 30). [Don't know how to reference a post.]

For future ref @elrod, clicking that #postcount gives you the perm link to that post. Can also copy url from a right click

Yup, images like that would've helped. Basically, the instructions tell you how to do it, but don't give you a visual reference when that step is done to know you've done it right and to move on.

/shrug. Still figured it out lol

Don't really understand what you guys are talking about? If you mean how to tell which bracket goes to which side that's basically the first thing they tell you how to determine, and show it pretty clearly in the video. He also explains pretty clearly that the rubber grommet should be pushed in from the underside of the bracket, and shows him putting it in. Not sure how much clearer they can get? (Don't mean to sound rude, all serious questions no sarcasm intended)

Mine arrived on Thursday... quick service on the delivery. The components were wrapped up really good... nothing loose... nice and tidy. Actually took me a few minutes with a razor blade to open up all the packaging to get parts laid out.

Watched the install video... looked at the PDF instructions... and went to it. Took all of about 20 minutes from start to finish... I did have an extra pair of hands to help steady things during the install of the main brackets. No issue with re-using the 10mm bolts.... they snugged down nicely. I guess time will tell if the stress of open/closing requires a little longer bolt.

The only thing that doesn't quite jive up with the video is that when closing the hood... letting the hood get past the point of no return... the hood does not close 100% from the free-fall. The latch catches, but I have to push down on the front edge to get to fully lock closed. Not a huge deal... maybe after the struts get some workout, they will "loosen up" a bit and the free-fall to closure will be a bit faster to have sufficient velocity to fully close and lock.

All in all.. very satisfied.... Thanks for the group buy opportunity which saved a few pesos.

Thanks for the feedback! Definitely let us know if the struts loosen up a bit with some use. We decided to err on the side of stiffness so that the hood wouldn't randomly fall with a gust of wind, but all of the kits we tested allowed the hood to 'drop close'. In any case, glad you're satisfied!

If sales doesn't chime in here, I'll touch base with them on Monday and get back to you. I don't believe that these are backordered.

Have a safe weekend, everyone!

Another great product from Grimmspeed!

It's too bad I was an idiot and snapped the bolt that holds the lower bracket in half. Made the installation process take twice as long.

Looking at mine right now as it's finally nice enough to install; the damper bodies are chipped likely from hitting the large metal brackets during shipping. See attached picture. That's a particularly bad spot, but all up and down the damper bodies there are chips in the finish like that.

Yikes, they definitely didn't look like that when they left Minnesota! Let me talk to the guys on Monday and see what we can do. If you want to install it in the mean time, go right ahead.
