Definitely not a nice situation, but it could have been worse. Get that door replaced and it'll be good as new.

exactly why i prefer straight pipes on this car. you can hear the car coming from a mile away and ppl are scared to switch lane on you because it sounds like youre coming fast

bought an axle back exhaust from WORKS with muffler delete that didnt come in yet. hopefully its loud enough for me

The curse

I'm not superstitious, but maybe there is something to this curse thing. I haven't had an accident of any kind for over 30 years, but I only had my FRs for a couple of months when, while completely stopped at red light, this moron woman from Pittsburgh hits me in the rear, on a bright sunny day with no clouds or precipitation of any kind happening. Fortunately it was a light enough tap that no real damage was done (hit on the textured black area- hardly scuffed the black paint and popped a plug out), but how does something like this happen?

I was talking with @TemeCal and we were speculating that the car being slow low, and in my case a dark color, makes it more difficult for other drivers to see and recognize it's position on the road.

In all seriousness glad you're OK, I can't tell you how many times I've been cut off on the highway. The car sits so low that it's probably difficult to see, especially when half of high way drivers have their side mirrors improperly adjusted.

I've found that mirror adjustment is crucial on this car. Most people are clueless when it comes to proper mirror adjustment.

Sadly, this is an overly incorrect statement!

OP should have hoped for a write-off as an accident kills the resale value of a car. I know personally I would never buy a car that has been repaired regardless of work done and all my car buddies are the same. Not to mention anytime you hear a weird noise or something just doesn't look right you will always blame the accident - truly a terrible thing to have happen to a brand new car.

If it were me I'd trade the car in towards a brand new one. Pay the difference. Then sue the lady for said difference. No way, I would stick with having an accident car when i'm 100% deemed not to be at fault by both insurance companies and the police!
