The Curse Strikes. Again.
Welp. This happened 4 weeks ago but I didn't want to post anything publicly until the insurance settled everything. Needless to say that took much longer than I would have hoped for. There was some dispute as to the timing of everything involved. In the end, I was declared 100% not at fault by both insurance companies and the CHP so that's good.
I was headed out for burritos with one of my Subaru buddies, we had been working on his STi swapped RS coupe all afternoon and were starved. I got on the freeway and not 5 minutes later, it happened. I was two lanes to the right of the other driver initially and I made a lane change to the lane next to her car. Shortly after I finished changing lanes, I noticed her drifting into my lane, and then suddenly she swerved back into her lane, overcorrected, and snap oversteered right into the side of my baby. We were able to get to the side of the freeway safely and no one was hurt, which was the most important thing. We waited over an hour for the CHP to come because there was a shots fired in the area immediately prior to us calling in. My drivers door and doorframe are pretty jacked up. But the shop says it looks cosmetic and that they'll have it good as new. Once everything is said and done I'll be sure to post a review of the shop for you locals. Until then I'd like to leave any particulars out. Pics: Her car was damaged on the front right end, they ended up totaling it as her front right frame rail was bent. So. Here's hoping the shop does a good job and my baby is back to good as new soon. Cheers Nathan |

The shittiest thing is that I've been driving for 8 years now, virtually accident free. (Nothing that required insurance involvement or even body work). I buy a brand new car, and BAM! I get run into. Welcome to Southern California I guess.

The doorframe is dented up underneath, there's a big dent it in along the bottom edge. The front edge of the quarter where it meets the door about 5" from the windowsill also is slightly out of shape from the door pushing in and pulling the metal in there. I didn't get any pics of that before taking it in.
They're going to end up cutting and replacing that section and then repainting the entire rear quarter. For the record, these cars are stable as heck and handle side impacts in a very drama free manner. |

Good to hear everyone is OK.
It looks like it's just the door from those pics, which is good. I take it the side airbag didn't go off? Edit, just read it's more then the door, that sucks. But to the important stuff, what car was she driving, and was she hot? |

Damn man, sorry to see that! Good to hear you were declared not at fault. You might want to look into a diminished value claim if allowed under your policy.

I'm definitely looking into it, but it's through her insurance so I'm not sure how that works out.

I'm afraid that if i buy an FRS, the moment i pull it off the lot a piano or anvil will fall from the sky and total it. 'Things are seriously cursed.
