Just weighed a roll of each, looks like if I round up 20 ish lbs(can't remember how many rolls of Peel and Seal I used) I used 3 rolls of FrostKing duct insulation and I think 4 rolls of Peel and Seal, 3-3.5 lbs for a roll of Peel and Seal an 2ish lbs for a roll of FrostKing. I plan on doing the doors with a roll of FrostKing, and if I get ambitious a roll under the headliner. I think I have about $100 or so into it

I know, I know, everyone's like No! The weight! Because RACECAR! But I don't race, it's a daily driver for me, and Because QUIETCAR! lol. It is definitely worth it to me and if I get off my lazy ass I can lose the weight I added.

I wish I had taken pictures while I was doing it and had the car stripped down, it's kinda a bitch pulling those panels off.

here you go man... Excuse the dust.. I haven't gotten around to cleaning it after i did all the cutting.

I mounted the post on the headlight tab hole, so if i ever have to take my headlights out again, ill be mad at myself because ill have to readjust the whole thing. I just had to bore out the hole so it was large enough to allow the post to go through it obviously... I was going to use the larger hole (you can see it a little further back) for the rubber hood stoppers, BUT, i noticed that hole lines up basically right on the hood line so that wouldn't work.

and then to mount the latches on the hood, i cut out a hole on the inside to allow the mounting bracket thing to fit though to bolt it down. (ive been thinking about drilling a hole in the piece i removed to let the post go through but then using some epoxy to hold it back on the hood so there isn't a gaping hole on the inside... and then ill just spray paint it black to blend in..)

Let's just say with that kinda of money I could have spent it on a lot better things, but my goal is get it as close to JDM spec as much as possible.

Looks good my buddy has the gt86 but wanted the FR-S I have talked to him about swapping but he has all the trd stuff on his. He is exporting it to long beach when he comes here for work might try to talk him into a trade so I can have the real thing.

I did mine on my own, wasn't all that difficult if you look up the DIY. All I paid for was the spray and that was only 14 and some change.

There were some really nice results with Duplicolor Metalcast red and Spraymax 2k clear coat. They are more expensive than VHT but give better results. I used VHT red and had to do a lot of wet sanding and polishing to get it to look nice. I will be cleaning it off and redoing it with the other two I mentioned.

thanks. yeah i know, ive been trying to figure out what to do. I like those center caps but i want to cover up the VW with a scion emblem. the best thing i could come up with is a custom vinyl sticker. I wish i could buy new center caps that say scion but those center caps are specially made for those wheels. they screw on.

suggestions would be appreciated
