The longer it takes, the better it will be. This is what I have decided.

As mentioned above by @invisage, Sprintex only just got their hands on an 86 in November. I have seen first hand that they are working on it. Things are still going from Prototype to Production pieces.

I just took the car for a drive a couple hours ago and theres still work that needs to be done. Its not far off though.

They need to stop going around and finally show US dyno numbers that use 93 octane, and stage 1. It's being like 4-5 months since I saw that picture of the unit mounted on the car. Is it really that hard to show a real chart.

I find it REALLY shady.
Clearly you have no idea of what goes into taking a one-off system and making it into a production system. It's ok, I don't expect you to, but to say it's shady is just plain wrong.

Chill out, have a :happy0180: and wait for the final results like me and everyone else.

Mate I fully understand where you are coming from which is why I went and hunted them down to find out what was going on. As stated, Sprintex (the actually manufacturer) is the one developing this kit and only got the car in November so they have only had just over two months to actually work with the car.

Also what was at SEMA was mostly plastic. Before they can tune it properly and get real figures out they really need a produced product so they can really push it.

That being said when I left them today the car was just about to head over for its first dyno. NOW DONT GET TOO EXCITED. This is the frist dyno along the way to getting a base tune so they can release a dyno to us

We have one of us bugging them for info now so I will leak along whatever I can get out of them.

So as @GaN-MaN said we got the call from Mark the sales manager today "we have the kit back on the car... would you like a drive?". FARK YEAH!

I dont care what dyno numbers come out I want this kit on my car ASAP. I got that lovely 'push back into my seat' feeling and best of all it was available in all gears at all times. Nice!

Before I left I did get a chance to take a little video you guys might enjoy...

Hear that whine!!!!!!

Also the reason the kit was back on was because it was heading over for its first Dyno to start getting info for the tune. Mark wasnt sure if these intial Dyno numbers would be available but the tuning is about to begin so numbers cant be far off!

But as I said the numbers really dont matter to me, this car was awesome to drive without a tune. Imagine what it will be like with a tune, exhaust etc etc!

I'd think it's fairly safe to say they would have had the base flash in it that was done at Mercury on the pre-production kit.

Different regions calculate octane differently. Australia uses RON. USA uses AKI (average of RON and MON). 97 RON gasoline in Australia is the same as 93 AKI gasoline in the US. Just thought you'd like to know.

Sounds zippy. Can't wait for more updates as they finalize their kit and begin releasing official data.

Quick update.

Received my aFe intake in the mail and after having a quick look at the picture I took of the engine bay I had a bad feeling it wasn't going to work with it. So I took it down to Sprintex yesterday and confirmed that it indeed wouldnt as the kit is now. Basically any of the aftermarket intakes that relocate the MAF sensor wont be plug and play (you would have to get somone to relocate it for you). But they are making an option for my aFe intake that will solve that problem for anyone else with one, and possibly other intakes too.

On the other note of how close we are to seeing actual numbers they were expecting their production version of the manifold by fedex last night/this morning. They have done a pleniminary dyno a week ago with the plastic manifold but that was to get some basic info but the true dyno and tuning will commence next week with the production kit on the car.

Our car club has a cruise on the 24th and he is pretty confident he will have a tuned car of sorts for the boys to try out so I would say they are very close to getting some official numbers out there. I will keep pumping them for info as I would like to see the numbers too!
