Sprintex Supercharger Sneak Peak!!!

Yesterday @GaN-MaN and I had a really good opportunity to have a look at what Sprintex is bringing to the market shortly (this is the bullet/innovate kit being advertised) as their main R&D centre is only 30 minutes away. At this stage they are just going from the prototype version to the production version, hence why the car we got to see wasnt complete and we couldnt see it in action. Final tune will happen once they have a full production version done (this is why there has been a delay with dyno's/ final power outputs as they are still finalising the production build.

You can check out a quick photo at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater

Mark the sales manager for Sprintex is a genuine enthusiast and a great person to talk to and is almost as excited about this as me! Im not allowed to reveal much more than what has already been given out but I can confirm the following:

* Figures will be out shortly and kits should be ready for shipment late this month or early in March.
* For us here in Australia they are looking to make it a road legal mod, but certification for that is 9-12 months away and they are aiming for it to be CARB compliant for our US brothers
* It looks very OEM in its finish with just the top mount being the noticeable change.
* They will have more options later on for higher boost which will most likely include smaller pulley, bigger injectors and fuel pump. They have not seen any problems with heat soak at this stage and going on their other kits for the many other cars they cater for they dont see any heat issues with the cooling system provided for higher boost (to be confirmed with later testing of course).
* No official price yet but they are aiming to be competitive with some of the other Turbo/SC kits out there.

Mark has happily agreed to keep me in the loop as they get closer to release and I will get to have a run in their car when its ready and my Auto GTS will be one of their initial kit install test bunnies too.

Bring on the whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine!

Good stuff. I am, however, very surprised they have taken this long to even show a prototype dyno. Hopefully it is worth the wait and not too many of their customers have jumped on other great FI options out there.

Ah I can tell you why its taken them longer, because of the stupid long waits in Australia for the car they only got their hands on a car in November.

Definitely in for more info on this. I will be at least a year away from ordering though :(

I know they were developing an integrated intake manifold for production. Perhaps there is some hold up there. I don't understand why they can't talk about some general numbers. Thanks for sharing.

Well they have talked about numbers (to some degree). Bullet made ~220whp on the prototype.

Was that for the intercooled kit or non-intercooled kit?:burnrubber:

The problem with that source of data is the baseline for stock engine was super low. So while 220 whp doesn't sound like much, if you look at the difference between 220 and the baseline... it is actually a lot of improvement.

I care more for the curves than peak #'s.

I don't understand this prototype vs production crap. they just purchased the sprintex unit and made a manifold, the production piece should yield the same results as the prototype.

Also 220whp if I'm correct was using the intercooled unit (stage 2) so maybe more boost too? and was this done in Australia was it 97 octane which doesn't exist here? too much speculation!

They need to stop going around and finally show US dyno numbers that use 93 octane, and stage 1. It's being like 4-5 months since I saw that picture of the unit mounted on the car. Is it really that hard to show a real chart.

I find it REALLY shady.

I've been watching this crap a long time now. When that 220 number originally surfaced I don't believe they had installed cooling. When they finally get a kit over to Visconti the tale will be told. Who knows what the hold up is, though. It sounded like he expected to have kit in hand before end of January.
