I don't understand how the bolt pattern correlates to the possible 86 STI power output. The WRX is 270PS, so 5x100 should be fine no matter what they do. I doubt they will allow competition between the WRX and the 86.

hmm... that is true. but i thought 5x114.3 offers handling advantages not just durability in straight line? if not i dont really care as i`ll be happy with the way the ft86 comes.

The only reason they would use the 5x114 would be if they wanted to use the Brembo's from the STI, or they used a significantly more powerful drivetrain that required more durable hubs.

Are you trying to say, that by having the lugs an addition 14.3mm apart that there will be handling advantages? FFS.... |

You can make a knuckle that'll hold the brembo calipers and stick with 5x100. 5x114.3 can be stronger but that's the only real benefit IMO.

![]() Um, no. Otherwise, Formula 1 would ditch their center-lock and go for an old-skool wide-5. The bolt pattern's only job is to maintain a frictional interface between the wheel and the hub. The only reason to complain about the bolt pattern is because your favorite wheels aren't made in that pattern, which means you'll have to suck it up, deal with it, and either re-drill the pattern or find a new set of wheels that are in 5x100 with about a 48 offset, of which there are tons to choose from.

Hopefully US gets the same parts.. But more than likely no? International always gets the good stuff.
