The only reason I wouldn't get them is because I can't justify the rest of the costs in making my car look just like that one pictured. It looks PERFECT there. Great blend of old and new.

I like the wheels. I wonder how the car would handle with the 15's. I'm sure they would cost a fortune.

I love em.. but very curious on pricing if they release them at all.

15's are light.. light is good. Light is fast.

I like good and fast

Im old enough to remember having a 280Z back in the early eighties and installing wait for it........Pirelli P7's ! By todays standards CRAP tires BUT...amazing back then. None the less we had WACKED sidewalls like you see on this car. IT wasnt until the Yokohama 008 came out with its SUPER stiff sidewalls and half slick surface that the "track day " tire was born. 008 II's had VERY stiff sidewalls and this was BEFORE....the "plus1" era( meaning if you had 14inch 70's then you do 15inch 60's. 16inch was EXOTIC back even in the mid eighties. Ok enough of the motorsport history channel stuff.

So if you did do a 15inch you would HAVE to choose a tire with stiff sidewalls. HAVE TO.

Pirelli P7 circa 1980

YOkohama 008 circa 1985

Ok carry on. Sorry for the thread jack.

Myles

I love the idea of that they're going for. And I really love that tire side wall. Has anyone seen a twin wearing a set of Panasports or a replica?

Not yet but I'm seriously considering Enkei Compes.
They offer a 16x8 +25 5x100 that go for around $650 on eBay for a whole set!

I'm afraid that would put them out too far for me. I don't want to sacrifice scrub radius and bearing life for the look. But I bet the look would be fantastic.

Edit this link in the wheel fitment faq is fantastic!
http://www.frsproject.com/tire_size.php

But this reveals another problem, finding a tire to fit a 16x8 rim.

I entered in the tire size...215/50 on a 15 inch 7.5 rim...fits just fine...?

The 15-inch by 7.5J wheels might be dwarfed by the girth of the 86′s wheel arches, but TRD have made sure to lower the ride height of the car substantially to sort of mask this obvious mismatch. Plainly put however, it actually does work pretty damn well. The new-gen Tosco, dare I even call them that, have been fitted with Dunlop Direzza 03G semi-slick tires, 215/50 all the way round, a sort of hint at what this concept has been aimed at. We can only but approve of those nice and chunky sidewalls!

Wonder how much...wonder how much they lowered it too.

I totally Approve
