Excellent review! He kicks the flaws but kisses the fun to drive aspect.

I feel that this thread would be moot if people understood the concept of trade-offs...

Dezoris, I saw your first video last week, and then stumbled into this one today. I'm still in the process of deciding whether or not I want to buy an FRS as a toy, and I found both of your reviews to be quite helpful in my research, and quite humorous. I can find a ton of reviews praising the FRS, but I haven't run across many reviews by people who own the car, who can speak with authority about the joys and sorrows of ownign an FRS, who are willing to give the bad with the good. After watching your first video, I was left with a sense that the car will accomplish what I want; a fun to drive, cheap car.

My only concern is, my last two toys had 400+whp. I found that my 3,100# C5 Vette with 410whp was really more than I could responsibly use to its fullest on the street, and the ridiculous acceleration lost its luster after a while. Cornering began to be the part I enjoyed about the car. I think the FRS will be even more fun in the agility department, but I'm a bit worried that over time, I'll begin to become dissilusioned with the lack of power. Watching your second review gives me more concern...
I was in a similar boat. When I had my Exige, never had I been pulled over so much in one year, and I only drove 6-7 months. The problem when you get into higher end or higher HP cars is you have all this potential that is completely wasted for street driving. Your problem you had a car that was most fun going flat out and could get up to a 100MPH faster than the FRS can hit 70.

The reason why I enjoy the FR-S daily is because, they designed to it be able to hit the limits on the streets without having to go 100MPH or like in my Exige, go 80MPH before the down force gave you more grip in turns.

But if you want a track toy or plan on making it a second car, it's going to disappoint without spending $$$ to give it the power it needs and suspension setup to manage it.

A lot of the Vette guys love running at road america. I have friends who want to go run up there. I was thinking how horrible it would be to run the FR-S on a track like that with no straight line speed. And that was my first thought so take it for what its worth.

Dude, you are a big fracking vortex of negativity. Your video just sucked the life out of me. If you are so unhappy with your car, just sell it and be done with it. Don't subject us to your constant whining. Lord Christ in heaven... You remind me of Woody Allen, not in a good way either.

Some of us understand what this car was built for and then there's you.

I liked it as well. I don't agree with a lot of it... But I still think it was well done.

I think most people skipped the end of the video when you said you liked driving it despite its perceived short comings... Oh well.

I have a one question for whoever wants to answer: Why do people keep comparing this car and a WRX? Isn't a 2013 WRX well above the 25K of the FRS?

This was kind of the point, the rest of the world has diesel cars and cars we with smaller more efficient motors. Basically smaller cars in general.

In the USA everything is big, and even our daily commuters have big motors in everything

I could never find a new WRX Hatch for under 26k.

The Grand Caravan weighs 2000 lbs more than the FRS and only have 83 more hp yet it's almost a close match acceleration wise.
