Well im thinking of throwing out that horrible green screened standard unit(obviously), and putting in a much better one(dont really need nav though). And ive got a JBL 4channel 640w amp lying around at home, still in the box. And maybe getting a DSP, im not sure. Looking to put some really crispy, audiophile sound in (clarity and finesse over hard bass), but i have no experience in car audio, only headphones. So i dont know where to go, or where to begin.
Sav, do i just get that from toyota, or externally? |

Nope, externally. Most decent audio fitment shops should have them, or you could get one on eBay.

Hey guys, as with a lot of people, I'm looking to upgrade the standard head unit. Not looking for anything too fancy, but the requirements are:
- Navigation - Bluetooth - Compatibility with the onboard USB and Auxiliary input - Good fit - Preferably a volume knob, but it's not a deal-breaker Plan on getting it done this weekend. Sav recommended a store in Centurion, but I would prefer a place around the Joburg area. Will keep Centurion in mind if it comes down to it. Will also need somebody to do a good install. Any recommendations?

Not yet - I've got Torque installed and I've ordered 3x ELM327 devices, Bluetooth, USB and WIFI. At the very least I should be able to get it working via WiFi.
The only requirement for getting it working via WiFi is you need a rooted device. Which I've already done...
