It's like 3.60 for premium here. I used to have a Maxima and always found that I would get 2 or 3 more MPGs in 93 octane vs 87. That is about a 10% improvement, which even back then made it almost pay for itself. Now that gas is over $3 the 30 cent difference makes it less than a 10% difference in price, so you are actually making money. Extra power for free? Seems like a no brainer.

Wow, I would definitely go E85 if that was the case here. I think there's only 3 stations within 60 miles and I have no idea what they charge.

I don't understand the complaints against buying premium. Premium vs. Regular is almost always a fixed price, say 20 cents.
This means you can sit down and plan out exactly how much more money you would spend on Premium vs. Regular, and its NOT MUCH! Better than letting your motor knock and explode. |

You should be comparing the price of E85 with the price of exotic race fuel.
No other pump fuel gets close to 105RON. |

I think mid 14's is legit and doable based on it's weight and it being RWD. That should be street tires 1/4 mile time. A high 13 might be possible with spare removed, and some DR's on the back, but you would have to drive the shit out of it. This is the low (lighter) spec I'm speaking of that is. The RX8 (mt) is good for a high 14sec run. FT-86 should be quicker than the 8.
