It has already had the same effect here.

I've been slamming "kids" for getting shit handed to them since I WAS a kid. Nothing tastes better than something you've worked hard for and people that have stuff just handed to them never understand that.

Never apologize for chastising the rich. They can handle it.

What's even better is that it isn't like a FRS or BRZ is a supercar.. so they're not even REALLY rich. Just enough to get an attitude. Knockin em down a peg or three is good for them. Builds some character that they cant otherwise buy.

haha thanks-Honestly as long as they are grateful and don't actually think they worked hard for it(when they didn't pay for it/had the money "lent" to them) just bugs me.
One of my friends is well off and they refused to let their parents get them a car. The other ones in my eyes are just kids who like to pretend to be adults(but really don't understand just yet)
If it was me-I'd be embarrassed.
If its my old way of thinking than so be it-a 30k car isn't all that much and can be easily worked for(especially for a college grad)
Its an amazing feeling to be able to look at something and think "I did this all on my own" :happy0180:

From my life experience, things you pay-for or earn yourself are valued more. Congrats to you if you made it happen on your own. This is one of many steps to being an *adult*.

Wait till you buy your first home. Holy crap that felt good/scary all a the same time. Hell I didn't buy my first new car until I was 28.. second "new" car at 31, house at 32.. FRS last December and I'm 34 now.

But seriously if my parents were ever in a position to just buy me a new car they wouldn't have anyway. Gotta teach kids to be adults and function in the real world. There's a serious lack of that goin on now days.

I see no reason to be nice on a forum (let alone in person) to some snot nosed "kid" that has no Idea what a buck is worth or what its like to get dirty working on a car because its all you have and it has to run to get you to work or you starve.

Granted, it all does depend on their attitude too. As you said, there are some that are well off that HAVE been taught well. Usually kids of self made blue collar folks that worked their way to financial stability.

^this^. 1st gen College grad here. My parents worked their *** off to give me the chance to do better. They're both gone now, but I'm _sure_ that they're both looking down happily from above on what I've done with the chance they gave me.

Hahaha.. very true.. but I'm a bit rough round the edge and have no issues with a good throwdown. If someone wanted to waste the time for that I'd give em a beer after I gave em a good thumping. Ya know.. just for effort's sake and all lol.

But seriously the whiny "mommy and daddy give me everything" sort aren't even going to lift a lazy finger to find an address let alone show up.

Wow that must of been really exciting! I'm looking forward to the day I will be at that point in my life. Money management/building credit is something I've been taking seriously lately. (Learning from my parents mistakes)
Its been a pretty wild ride so far-Learning a lot of good life lessons the typical kid who had stuff handed to them wont understand.(At least not yet)
My mentality about work/education/value of a dollar/finances are on a whole other level from my friends and for that I could never be jealous of them/or dependent kids in general.
