Star Spec version 1 - because I already have them. If they wear out, I'll be on Star Spec II (probably). I need a do it all tire. It needs to work in the hot, the cold and the wet - particularly the wet (I'm driving them to events). I don't think the BFG is going to do well in the wet.

I've been on the Star Spec ZI for the past few months, they're about ready to be flipped.

I'm debating between the ZIIs and BFG Rivals for my next set. The Rivals look great, but they can't be flipped, so on a camber-challenged car in stock class, they may not last as many runs as a tire that has symmetrical tread. The ZIIs might be good, but I've been hearing mixed things from the few people running them. It's going to be tough to decide without better information.

Heading into Spring/Summer in AZ means that cold and wet performance don't carry a ton of weight for this next set.

I think the Rivals are non-directional.

They aren't directional, but it's an asymmetric tread pattern, meaning that the inside shoulder can't be flipped around by remounting to become the outside shoulder.

So long as the sidewalls don't have some construction asymmetry you could still flip them. Once the tread is worn way down it won't matter. We used to flip kuhmo victoracers, and they look an awful lot like the rivals.

That's true, but they may not be as good flipped. They seem to be touting tread that wraps down the outside shoulder as a big performance enhancer. I doubt the inside shoulder got a similar treatment. It's the sort of thing that will have to wait for some testing, I guess.

Hoosier A6. the best choice for CS.
for STX, you have lots of choices and all of them will probably work just fine.
