autoX tires what are you getting?
So what tires is everyone going to be running for this AutoX season and why.
|
Star Spec version 1 - because I already have them. If they wear out, I'll be on Star Spec II (probably). I need a do it all tire. It needs to work in the hot, the cold and the wet - particularly the wet (I'm driving them to events). I don't think the BFG is going to do well in the wet.

I'm pretty new at Autocross so ill be using the stocks for the first half and maybe my Mich Pss for the rest

I've been on the Star Spec ZI for the past few months, they're about ready to be flipped.
I'm debating between the ZIIs and BFG Rivals for my next set. The Rivals look great, but they can't be flipped, so on a camber-challenged car in stock class, they may not last as many runs as a tire that has symmetrical tread. The ZIIs might be good, but I've been hearing mixed things from the few people running them. It's going to be tough to decide without better information. Heading into Spring/Summer in AZ means that cold and wet performance don't carry a ton of weight for this next set. |
I'm running continental extremecontact de because I will be using these tires for my daily commute

Hoosier A6. the best choice for CS.
for STX, you have lots of choices and all of them will probably work just fine. |
Currently on factory wheels with 225/45R17 1st gen Michelin Pilot Sports.
Have 17x9et35 black RPF1s in the boxes and waiting on Z2s in 245/40R17 around mid-March just in time for the SCCA National Tour stop here in San Diego. |
I'm using nitto invo 235/45 r17 they are going to be both daily and autocross
