I was gonna recommend Lyle @ Vinyl Styles as well - he did the matte black lower front lip on my car, really nice guy. But I believe he's in San Carlos not San Bruno.

EDIT: OH! but if you go to him be super careful and slow going into the parking lot there -- even at stock height I scraped there the first time I went in there!

You should just quit wasting money and run 91.
I was under the impression that the car designed/programmed for 93?

I replied in the newish thread about '91 octane issues' in this sub-category about the concept of octane blending. This is how mid-grade octanes are created.

I've never heard of a factory tune that was optimized for 93 (many 91). BUT I've not done research on the factory ECU at all.

Direct injected cars are VERY sensitive to fuel quality due to the size and pressure of the HPFP and I think a lot of people are taking issues related to fuel quality and finding a different reason for them.

My first direct injected car was the VAG 2.0t and if I put fuel in that wasn't Shell/Chevron/ect. it would actaully through a check engine light for "low fuel parameter" meaning the car was thinking it was not getting enough fuel, when in fact the fuel was just inferior. This can make your car run rougher and louder fueling because of the sensitivity of the pump.

Group buy for tic steering rack bushings! Steering rack bushings helped a lot on my previous subarus! One of the best mods I've done, hopefully y'all will get in on it and lower the price!

I'll quote from the manual...

Quote:
The engine is designed to operate at maximum performance using
unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 93 AKI (98 RON) or
higher. If 93 AKI (98 RON) fuel is not readily available in your area,
unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 AKI (95 RON) may be
used with no detriment to engine durability or driveability. However,
you may notice a slight decrease in maximum engine performance
and you may hear some knocking (pinking) of an engine while using
91 AKI (95 RON) fuel. Use of 91 AKI (95 RON) fuel will not affect your
warranty coverage.
p. 420, BRZ owner's manual.

once again the slippery slope beckons...
I'm trying really hard not to spend a bunch of money modding this car... for now. Theoretically you could change out a thousand different bolts, bushings, braces to make some minuscule difference. Yeah it adds up... but so does the cost! For me the trick is to avoid driving someone else's car who has these kinds of parts on it... as they say, ignorance is bliss.
