You absolutely do not want to re-route PCV vapor back to the oil cap. Its a gimmick at best.
If you are ok with unburned fuel, blow by oil and water vapor in your oil pan then go for it. Even if by chance gravity actually drains the can back to the oil cap its a horrible idea and design.

Can I ask why without offending you?
The way you have that setup, from what i can see anyway, does not look like your can is going to catch anything since nothing will circulate through it. I think it would do the same thing to remove the can and put little filters on the nipples on the block.

[QUOTE=03Z33;699911]New Cusco vertical catch-can/separtor with internal partitions:
![]() http://www.cusco.co.jp/en/parts_prod...ta_86_sub.html And it lookls like its connected between the front crankcase vent and the intake behind the air box. I wonder why they keep showing it connected this way. Is it something to do with forced induction installs or what? Please somebody that knows difinitively, confirm the can is supposed to go between the PCV and manifold.

I'm not suggesting pulling a vacuum on the crank case will increase power, though i know lots of people make that claim and it doesn't take much consideration to understand the theory.. a piston traveling down the bore working against 20 PSI of pressure against the under side of the piston will have to work harder than a one moving through vacuum. My preference is based on what i have observed on the dyno (dip sticks popig out, oil spewing all over the place, oil film covered engine bays, excessive oil smoke) and the theory behind why we have pcv systems in the first place (to prevent sludge buildup for one). IMO the reason for a closed system is to scrub the oil vapor out of the crank case gases. If you had an open system that actually did that i think it would probably be superior to a closed system because you would not be re-circulating any of the other vapors.

The included hoses fit the stock pcv hoses! Gotta trim them both down and use hose clamps at the connections. Make sure you tap into the rear pcv for the majority of the blow by, not the front vent that goes to the intake. |

Does anyone have a picture of a catch can sitting right next to a lightweight battery?
