Apparently. Not sure why this group is seemingly being ignored.
We really appreciate all the work ft86sf. Just hope we see stock catback+headers. Maybe w an over pipe? Either way hope I don't sound ungrateful you guys rock Last edited by zohare; 01-27-2013 at 12:20 PM. |

Thanks for videos and THANKS for the weights. Much, much appreciated. I think that exhaust combo sounds mean as F. Love it.

Ft86speed factory,
Your car is now equiped with a full exhaust system like the borla's car on their video. Headers - overpipe - front pipe - Cat-back If your car only had the headers and the cat-back, do you think it would make it quieter by a lot or just a bit ?

If you want this to be quiet, you need to have a catted front pipe, a resonated system, and a muffler.
The Q300 would be quiet with that setup. This would be quiet with the stock system as well, but I don't know why you would want a header with a stock system considering the front half is very restrictive, unless you get a new overpipe and frontpipe. The two can muffler systems like the N1, or the Evo3 will be very loud still. The crossflow muffler like Perrin, the Q300, and the V1 has normally lower sound volume in that setup. I'm positive this video seems overwhelming because of no cats. You'd be surprised how well they tame down the excessive loud sounds in the exhaust without hindering the UEL sound everyone is looking for. |

These videos and installs take up quite a bit of our time. The install portion with photos and documentation took up about 3.5 hours. The video portion took another 2 hours, just to get the footage. Editing photos, editing video footage, and uploading the content takes another 2 hours atleast. Lastly, once all that is done, we get to write up a little post here on the forum. Total time is around 8 hours. What I am trying to get at is we cannot cater to everyone out there. There are a handful of people(3 in this thread to be exact) that would like to hear this with an OEM header-back system. So, on our first test, our time was better spent on the setup you see above. We are not done with testing and still have dyno time scheduled for the car. If we can get around to it, we will surely try to get this setup tested. I just hope you guys understand that these things don't happen overnight and there are many many things that need to get done around the shop to run a successful business. Quote:
Thanks everyone! -Yo |

The stock front pipe have a cat on it and should normally help reduce the borla uel headers noise a bit but will also reduce the exhaust flow and so the hp by the way. I'm pretty sure that the combo of a Perrin resonated cat-back + borla UEL headers would be a perfect match and perfect music to my hear. I like what I saw here on the video but for me it is a bit too noisy for long term use.

I'd be interested to hear someone who has a catted front pipe, unresonated on something like the V1 or the Perrin. Definitely don't expect these guys to do all these tests with the headers. Give it a few weeks and other people who purchase the header will start posting their videos/reviews of the UEL header with several exhausts. Awesome videos btw Jeremy. You showed just about every aspect of this header you can. It's pretty loud at highway cruise ~70 mph. One of the reasons I'm considering a Hemholtz resonator in my exhaust which I believe combats that frequency some. Hell, I don't mind that sound since I love my cars loud. Sounds absolutely awesome. I have to be honest..I haven't placed payment through PayPal as of yet due to the constant pushback on dates by Borla. I've actually laid out a pretty nice chunk of change on a bunch of parts that were supposed to ship in November and only 1 of 4 parts has shipped and it was last week that I received tracking info. I REALLY want this UEL header and I have the Perrin Overpipe, catted front pipe, resonated Catback, and I'm installing the Perrin CAI and Silicone intake tube on Weds this week. I want this header installed to finish off the exhaust system and I've been holding off on Dyno tuning until the intake and exhaust are free flowing and complete.
So what it all boils down to is when will this header actually ship? My wife is very supportive of my hobbies and doesn't mind when I spend $$ on mods and is in the garage getting dirty every time I install a new part but she has a hard time understanding why I lay out so much money for parts that have no realistic ETA. I know this isn't anything to do with the 86 speed factory but everything to do with Borla. Can you please give us all a realistic date that we can expect to see the parts if we have placed orders or placing orders now? I really want to give you my money I just don't like having an unknown date of completion. Lastly, I listed my exhaust and intake system for those of you who have similar setups. I will happily post videos once the part is available as I know how time consuming it is for vendors and there is no possible way to dyno and video every setup requested. Thanks in advance!!

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27091 We totally understand on backorders and it is very frustrating having to make customers unhappy. We are confident on this next shipment as we have a batch on order. Thanks, -Yo |
