So if a dealer decided to sell all of there fr-s' at $500 below sticker they can do that, but can never offer it for more or less than $500 off sticker.
So we are not gonna see frs price gouging? Awesome! I will pay msrp or below.

Didn't notice that! Need bore x stroke! C'mon 86mm x 86mm!
No problem!

86mmx86mm does equal 1997cc not 1995cc. cool beans.

a few comments.

i'm really liking these specs. this could translate to a truly epic car.

to the people complaining about the lack of torque, how much were you *really* expecting from a 2.0L n/a engine???

to the people complaining that the torque peak is too high, let's wait and see what the curve looks like. as serialk11r said, maybe it has an extremely flat curve up to the peak at 6600rpm.

can't wait to take one for a drive...

Actually, it equals 1998cc and as near as I can tell, 86x86 is the only reasonable combo that does. As far as I'm concerned, 86x86 is confirmed.

I really doubt that. Going from the over-the-top FR-S concept to a car that hasn't even been fully painted is going to alienate most of their market. Sure the car may be an enthusiast's car at heart, but there will be plenty of people that want one because "hey, that's the new cool Scion."

I saw a Release Series xD that sat on the lot for months and months, and they knocked about two grand off of the price and advertised it as such. I don't foresee this car sitting around (though, if it's not really low production, who knows) long enough to warrant a price drop on the tag, but it wouldn't be the first time it happened.

in my case having an NA engine was excatly my concern because of the lack of torque. as much as I want this car I'm really not happy with the engine option. 200hp is fine as long as it had 200lb tq like the GTI which
feels faster than it actually is.
Even Honda decided so stop using their low torque engine on the Civic SI.
they might be great track cars but they are a pain to live with in the real world.
If I get this car I'll have to supercharge it or turbocharge but then I'll have to deal with unreliability.

((8.6 / 2)^2) * 3.14 * 8.6 * 4 = 1997.21584

lol, second instinct, I never pay attention in class :P I'm actually surprised, I haven't dealt with NUMBERS in forever. (you may know, real math has almost nothing to do with numbers)

Don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but this is more likely from a sales manual rather than a technical one. Why would they have a comparison for a technical manual? Toyota have kindly provided the 3 main cars they think the FT86 will compete with: MX5, RX8 and CR-Z. Hope that this doesn't mean this is the price point they'll be targeting too (as these 3 cars are retardedly expensive in Australia).

Aren't most things expensive in Australia compared to the rest of the world?
