im in ffx also, with some decent winter tires the car is fine, especially in the TINY amount of snow we got. I wouldn't have been worried on my factory tires either. Honestly, its not even 3 and there is no more snow on the roads to speak of.

However if I had a second vehicle I would have driven it for fear of all the terrible drivers in the area who panic in the snow.

I've been wondering how the stock summers would take the cold and this week was able to find out. BRZ sat out in 13-17 F degree weather. Much to my surprise on a dry surface the grip seemed normal. Would not, however, chance it in the snow!!

Ya, this. I live in Pittsburgh. I've had no problems in the snow with my wintertire equipped brz. Of course I changed my driving style as well...not as aggressive.

car's too damn light! use some ballast in the as* end, plus dedicated snows, and be very careful!

Just had my first snow experience...pretty pleased overall. Wearing winter tires, have two bags of mulch in the trunk (wrapped in a blanket ), and of course hit the "SNOW" button on my TC settings. Sadly, snow clearing teams have been so bored around here this winter, all the parking lots were plowed / salted / cleared by the time I got out to lunch. So donuts will have to wait for another time...

Argh. I hate when I see/hear people say that. I guess it's more excusable when it's somebody from a warm climate but all seasons don't and have never included winter. All seasons in California and Florida maybe but not the rest of the country.

It's worse than my GTI (FWD car), but a hell of a lot more fun! Got some sideways drift action going. With proper snow tires and some weight in the rear, I'm sure it'll be just fine.

I'm running general altimax arctics and I actually took the spare out awhile ago for a project I can no longer remember. So I have 25 pounds less than stock over the drive wheels. It snowed a few inches today and it's been extremely cold so the roads got slippery quick. Almost everyone is struggling to drive properly out there right now (mostly because PA drivers don't know what they're doing in snow but I digress) but my BRZ took it just fine. Just start up calmly I got going every time.

I wish I could see the terrified look on peoples faces when my back end does step out a tiny bit... " OH NO HE'S GONNA DIE!!!!!!!"

Had some trouble getting up the my hill today. I'll take a pic tomorrow so you can see the beast I have to get up. I ended up having to back up my neighbors driveway, get some speed and just coast the rest of the way up not touching the accel till the top.

Snow wasn't really the issue it was due to several people in my family driving on the tiny bit that was there and it froze over during the day.

Also on a side note guy living in pg what part do you live in?

I haven't had any issues yet myself. All stock, but I don't go out if there is crazy snow(which doesn't happen in MD).

I'm from Philly and we had snow.... I drove my BRZ to work. With stock summer tires. Definitely not advised, lol.

Started in second gear, just a lil power... And still slid a lot, but nothing uncontrollable, just really often.... Glad I live close to my job, lol

I live In northern ny where todays temp was -11... does the car slip in the snow? Yea but not as bad as you might think. I deal with lake effect snow about once a week and so far the traction and stability control does an amazing job at keeping the car straight and saving me from spins. Ive got a set of winters in the closet right now because I just dont feel the need to use them.
