I think the point is, drag racing isn't as simple as just putting the the pedal all the way down, just as driving a road course isn't as simple as when you get to the corner, turn the wheel.. Both require a set skill.. Sure low powered cars at a strip are not hard to run down that straight piece of pavement.. Just as I'm sure a 50hp crappy 3 cyl. Would be just as boring running around VIR.. You always see people saying drag racing is boring.. And such.. It's really not its a lot of fun.. Why care about your 0-60. And stuff if you don't exploit it legally at a strip.. If you've never been to a strip you should try it some time.. Just as I tell friends that have never been to a road course.. Try it sometime.. It's a ton of fun.. I could run the strip Friday night and streets of willow Saturday because I enjoy both..

I believe nascar is more boring than drag racing.
What is exciting about nascar however are the pit stops. With the drag racing, there aint' no Early/Late/Ideal line. The most ideal line is the straigtest you can keep the car. As for stopping, unless i don't know enough, i thought that is almost irrelevant as long as you come to a safe stop after you hit the trap. As for turning ratios, not sure how that is relevant much either. all forms of sports require skills. But to say there is "more tactic (decisions)" to make in drag racing compared to time attack (can't even compare to circuit as you'll have pit stop as well as decisions to conserve fuel, tires, Rain conditions), is kinda tough at least coming from me. So I would like to learn more from you as to what are the tactics involved FROM THE DRIVER, rather than the decisions as to how to build the car.

Tactics for drag racing? Launch RPM, tire pressure, burnout length (too long and the tires go from sticky to greasy), shift points, reaction times (staging battles), where/when to lift and if to brake (bracket racing). |

Is anyone else here trapping 115 in the 1/8th? No? I didn't think so. So y'all better shut up.
My BRZ is the Limited one with the spoiler! Factory!! The government made them put the spoiler on that model bc of how fast it goes. I haven't taken it to the track, but I'm pretty sure my car runs the quarter in the 6's. Stock. Racing against anyone is a waste of my time though bc no one could keep up with me. (I wonder if The Flash ever had this problem. "I'll race you down and back and beat you before you even leave the line. See? I just did it. I'm just so fast you couldn't see it. I'll do it again, don't blink. Ok, you see it that time? No? What?! No really, I run the speed of light... never mind. I'm going home. I'm back. I got bored. This is a wasted super power if no one can see me use it!") |

And maybe an explanation that there is a massive differences between 11s and 9s would help. My buddy drags a Supra. When he was 600ish whp he was in the 11s. It took him well over 800 whp to just crack into the 9s. That's a big difference in how the car acts.
