Jesus that is a hell of a break in procedure. Just dont post that it the break in thread as everyone seems to have their own ideas of how they should be broken in. Its kinda like the type of oil threads.

Who was that on the 202 east at midnight? Had the BRZ spoiler...dark color (Raven equiv). Passed me near Alma School, I hopped off Gilbert. Second one Ive seen driving around...since May. I know there's quite a few, but I am out around midnight-7am if at all, so rarely see them.

Here is a link to event info for the Marana autox http://www.azsolo.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12543
Registration closes at 7:00 pm Friday. Registration link http://www.azsolo.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12543 And here is a link to a AZSolo walkthrough video, and it is close enough to Tucson procedure. If you have never done autox, well, it is the best car in the world for the sport. While I am not an instructor at the Marana events, I can hook you up with instructors. If you want to attend, but have questions, ask away. There are already a few az autoxers. |

Pic of my new tattoo...86 and boxer pistons
Hard to get a good shot because its pretty much on the back of my knee. Very tender spot to get a tattoo by the way! I had artist enlarge the 86 because there is so much small detail in it.

I'm so happy, I'm so happy, I'm happy, I'm happy, I'm happy - paraphrasing an old Cream song circa '69.
Results are the AMP event is posted http://www.azsolo.com/events-info/results Short version Novice 1: Mattles 2nd, Jeffsides 3rd , the Sleeper 4th out of 7 Novice 3: Jasper 4th out of 6, but keep in mind he was driving cooked street tires SK1 (stock street tire) Ningin 3rd out of 8 SK1 is a tough local class, I was in it for years. Ta-da Instructor class - Me 1st (overall 6 out of 89). Sorry, it is hard not to be braggy when I put the hurt on some seriously good drivers. I have a feeling that the twins are going to completely dominate STX. |

I'm thrilled about my result too, I was expecting to be no higher than 5th. Kevin was really tearing it up Sunday, that instructor class is serious business, and his car's not even fully prepped yet, a good exhaust and tune would probably add a good bit on a course like AMP or Marana. 1. My car is currently lowered on Eibach springs but not much else in the way of meaningful modifications. I still think this would put me in the STX class instead of stock. How much of a fool am I going to look like trying to run with that class on stock tires without any other modifications? 2. Are there always enough loner helmets or should I just buy my own? 3. If I end up liking this, how reasonable is it to have an STX prepared car as your daily driver? Thanks! |
