This is a mixed duty car. Our goal for 2013 is to make a trackable street car.

We actually need more camber. The camber is to increase cornering grip; we actually need more camber based on tire wear.

Our 17x8 wheels (featured in the video) wouldn't rub. The 17x9 +35 wheels will.

10/12 or 12/14 f/r, depending on the tires on the car (and how motivated I feel about changing springs).

Hey hey hey, I can't give away ALL our plans now

Currently, we have:
- Tein SRC Coilovers
- Enkei RPF1 wrapped in 225/45/17 RS3 and WedsSport TC105N wrapped in 235/40/17 RC1
- AP Racing/Essex "Sprint" kit
- Berk axleback prototype

It's really simple...

Future:
- Aero
- FI
- Supporting mods (cooling)
- LSD

No sways, or bracing, or intakes, or anything else...

I'm not going to lie you kicked ass out there. Nice lines. How wasted are the tires after a aggressive lap? I find my Michelin Super Sports to be pretty gone if I run them that hard.

No matter what tire you're on, if you're pushing hard enough, they'll be overheared quick. Laps at (roughly) this pace will cook the tires in 1 lap.

How much faster are you on the 9" Weds compared to the 8" RPF1s?

Different tires, so you can't really do a back to back comparison...

Depends on the track too.

It's difficult to say if the 9" are even faster, since there are other factors involved too, even at each individual track (aero consequences of the "poke" and scrub/track come to mind....)

It's been proven on miatas that the same size tire is faster on a wider wheel (larger contact patch), but they have so little power that aero is almost moot. almost.

I figured the tires were different but I took a shot thinking you drove the same track layout on both sets of wheels and had a rough idea of how the two compare.

I'm still very interested in more research you guys do with different wheel/tire combinations (among other things) though. I always look forward to the results of your tests.

There's so much testing that I wish we could do, but we're just a few guys that are carefully picking and choosing what we test since we're on a limited budget like everyone else here. Now if we had something like GMG's budget...
