Debating between Sportlines or STANCE coils..

So I haven't gotten my FRS yet so I figured i'd do some shopping before I actually get the car

So my previous car was a Stage 2 2010 Genesis coupe. The suspension was Eibach Sportlines, I like it, I didn't mind the harsh ride but from what I remember I wanted lower.

Now for the FRS i'll be running 18x8.5 +35 & 18x9.5 +40 , I THINK the sportlines will be perfect but i'm scared they wont be and thinking i should get STANCE coils.

But now my question is if i'm getting these coils, I have to rebuild them every 4 years? where as Sportlines there pretty much good, my shocks might blow but then I could replace them with Koni Shocks? Do I have to get Control arms with the coils or the springs?

Not much of an expert in the suspension domain. Which is why I ask.

Id say coilovers, but depending on what you intend to do with the car along with your budget. Koni yellows paired with swift lowering springs are magic and better performing than nearly any lower to some mid end coilovers out there. Ive read good things about the RCE yellow springs as well so i guess those might be a decent option too. But as far as i recall, rce doesnt actually manufacture their own springs so thats the only thing that bothers me. Cant say much about eibach as i think their lowering springs are total crap.

Im aiming for low and slow. That why im thinking stance coils, heard any news on them?

Go with some coilovers if that is what you are looking for. The sportlines are a good spring, but I don't think you will get the car to look the way you want it with those springs.

ill roller has a thread on the Stance coils and he is a fan. We have them in stock too

New control arms are recommended in the rear because you will need to adjust your camber after lowering the car. You won't need them in the front because you'll have camber plates for the adjustment.

Whats your price for the stance coils?
Any news on HSD coils I believe there the same price. .
Control arms in the rear are they easy to install

Rear control arms are easy to install, depending on which ones you get though they may not be easy adjust.

You could get control arms or the Whiteline camber bushings, you might want to check on some adjustable sway bar end links if you are going really low. A lot of us here shake our heads when we see the desire to slam the car so be prepared for it.

It's alright, would I need control arms with sportlines? I don't feel like paying over 2000$ on suspension.

You will most likely need some kind of camber correction with the Sportlines but still would come out better off in my opinion.
Sportlines ~250
SPC LCA ~300
Koni's if/when the stock ones need replaced ~770
$1320 total but no adjustability.

If you want adjustability and to get low for now i would go this route

If your going to ruin your car.. At least do it as best you can.. Lowering a car one thing, slamming a car is something different, but it's your car just keep it safe.. Look up robispec, his FRS is very very low.. But is safe and done properly and still has full suspension movement, or stroke or whatever..

I was going the cheap coil over, but after speaking to a couple suspension guys, I'm getting coils now and KW's later when it's in my budget

If you're looking to go low and slow, I think you'll find that the Sportlines dont go low enough. I had Stance on my S14 a few years back and was satisfied with them. I got coils to lower the car for a bit now and I'm planning to get KWs later.

Yeah i've come to the conclusion that the sportlines are not low enough..
i'm looking for a 2" drop about, that should be perfect.
Whats the difference between KSport and Tein Basis Coilovers? Tein basis Coilovers seem great on paper and what i need.. I don't need high end suspension.

What about Ksport? Just watched the review seem to be best bang for your buck?
