New Products: Front/Rear AP Racing Formula Brake Systems- fit stock wheels!

Essex led the way in FT86 brake system development with our Competition Sprint and Endurance Systems, which feature AP Racing components. We then added a massive six piston road car setup to the mix. Now we're adding a four piston front and four piston rear setup to the lineup. The best part is, they will fit stock FT86 wheels without a spacer! The rear system will work with both the front six piston or front four piston system.

You can see all of the options here. These are all on the shelf and ready to ship today!

Front Red Six piston 350mm disc

Front Black Six piston 350mm disc

Front Red Four piston 343mm disc

Front Black Four piston 343mm disc

Rear Black Four piston 335mm disc

Rear Red Four pison 335mm disc

These systems are completely designed, manufactured, and assembled by AP Racing in England, and we (Essex) will be importing them to North America.

Please visit our blog for details. I'll post more info as I have it. We are now accepting orders.

EDIT: This is one of those times I don't NEED it, but I WANT it. Let me know if you're going to run a special on the first few sets and I'll drop the coin then and there.

Stainless or aluminum pistons?

And ditto on the weight specs.

I'm curious how this compares to the Stillen kit. I'd buy it over them just because it's Essex but I know Stillen makes good stuff in general.

Is there a ball park price? It's funny I was just talking to my friend about getting new brakes!

Thank you very much.

The main difference is that the four piston caliper in Stillen's kit is the only component in their kit made by AP Racing. Their kit uses a 330x28mm disc (either slotted or drilled)...I'm not sure what brand the disc is, or where it is made. Stillen manufactures the other parts in their system or sources them elsewhere. I don't know if their system comes with pads or fluid.

The kit in this thread is the offcial AP Racing Formula Kit, fully designed and built in England, and imported to the USA by Essex. It features all AP Racing components...four piston calipers, two-piece discs with patented J Hook slot pattern, hats, brackets, fluid, and pads. The only exception is the brake lines, which are made by Goodridge.

The front kit we are selling features an ever so slightly larger diameter disc vs. Stillen kit (332mm vs. 330mm), but the one in our kit is narrower (26mm vs. 28mm), which should give slightly better wheel fitment (I have not yet verified that though). We are only offering the J hook option on discs, not drilled. Our kit is available in silver, and theirs is not. Our kit comes with AP street pads and AP fluid...not sure if theirs does or not.

Price between the two front systems is roughly identical.

The rear systems are the same situation...Stillen uses AP Racing calipers and parts from other sources. Our kit is 100% AP Racing components. Ours uses a 1-piece J Hook disc, while theirs is a two-piece setup. Our rear kit is about $500 less expensive.
