We did hear back from Tire Rack today. They are going to mount the 235/40's on the stock size rims. I'm pretty confidant that this will be a very good combination for RTR on an FR-S. They are restocking them and won't be in until around the 24th.
And weight is bad, I wanted to shave them, but I really got this car as a DD so I didn't. |

Anyone weigh them and see if they match up with tireracks spes? Also, do they run wide compared to others?

How'd you get them to ship so fast? When I checked last week the ship date was around March 9th, from any warehouse.

I've got 4 tracking #'s, they'll be here mounted tomorrow. I'd like to weigh the tires and wheels separately but that won't happen. I will weigh them together and measure height and width.

Picked them up today. The 235 looks totally normal on a 7"rim. The tread is 8.75" wide, the 255's are 10.35" wide, so a 20mm advertised difference is actually more like 40mm.
The total weight is 39lbs which is exactly what the total should be. 15 and 24. They took about 1/2 oz of weight which is great. |

I checked on 245/40's, so that probably explains it.

So with the BFG Rival being a contender (and possibly better tire) than the Z2's, anybody think we can fit a 245/40 on a 17x7?
Or will you have to go with a smaller 225/45 compared to a good sized 235/40? |
