Porsche also helped develop the EG33 in the SVX. 3.3 liters and 240 hp NA was a heck of a powerplant back in the early 90's. For reference, my parents had a 96 Dodge Caravan that had a 3.x liter engine that made 160 hp. Yuck.

I forget which H6 Subaru engine has it...but there's a particular one that uses actual "Made in Germany" Porsche (complete with Porsche part numbers) lifters in the heads.

I am actually inferring the opposite of what you must have read my post to say,

I believe that Porsche has sourced differentials from Subaru before, and maybe still do.

Let's remember that Porsche Gmbh is actually an engineering firm, that happens to build cars,

Perhaps we recall the VW in it's original form, was simply a design exercise for Ferdi Porsche, requested by the Furor.

Harley V-rod also uses an entirely Porsche sourced powertrain. there are examples of this that we could go on for days about.

Let's also remember that Subaru (FHI) practices the same business model, often working with other OEM's (ever heard of the twins?FR-s BRZ...kinda cool cars) also providing differentials, gear components and design and manufacturing expertise to manufacturers world wide, even direct competitors.

IIRC Matt Monson has a BRZ/FRS, so they did plenty of development on the actual car if that's what people are wondering about.

No I understood your post. I was just saying that it wouldn't surprise me if it went both ways.

Lots of talk about Subaru this and that. Too bad the FRS/BRZ differential is a Toyota unit.

So toyota makes that unit in house?

or is it a FHI differential designed for a RWD car and sold to Toyota?

(remember Subaru uses smaller differentials in their "normal cars")

I think it's the same diff that's in the IS250 so it predates major Toyota/Subaru partnerships.

In any case, it's an R180 diff right? Those tend to be relatively standard.

$2595 plus installation...
OSGiken compared to this thing is like shopping at Walmart for Performance items.. not that the OSGiken doesn't work well.. this one is US made, and has a Higher performance level than the Giken... Unlimited support..and its guaranteed ......Seen to many Giken's in S2K's get eaten..so I am pretty much going bulletproof right out of the box so I 'never' will have to worry about it..

I hate to be a nay-sayer, but you know the stock diff is something like a 4:1 bias ratio. It's a BIG bias Torsen. The Torsen in a Boss 302 Laguna Seca is 2.8:1. And I've use 4:1 Torsens to win National Championships in cars with a lot more power.

I have seen nothing that even has me considering a change for any of my other customers (certainly not myself). I keep wondering if I should just build my car all the way, but it's hard to justify since I prefer to run Super Stock and have a pretty good car for it too with 436 hp.

Working on a full build the way I think it should be done with a fellow National Champion as I type this.

EDIT: The Miata Scott Fraser has now won 2 Championships in, in CSP (and top PAX this year) has a regular old Torsen in it. And it's not nearly as much bias ratio either. Just sayin'.
