Opinions on Saturn Sky?

I saw one of these cars pass by me about a month ago and actually really liked the look of it. What do you guys think? How would you compare it to the FR-S in terms of performance and handling?

Here is one listed on carmax:

Love the looks but I would only buy one with the intention of an LS swap a la Mallett - http://www.mallettcars.com/sky-conversion.htm

The Solstice and Sky just never had enough of a following for me to have much interest.

My reaction to these cars are "Meh" but that's just from my first impressions... Haven't drove one before so I'm interested to see if anyone can provide input on the Sky or Pontiac version.

Never drove one, but I always wanted GM to keep these cars in production. Pontiac died just when it was starting to have good and interesting cars. I would love to be able to buy a new G8

Now that their dead I see so many G8's on the road. Would love to do a Holden or Vauxhall conversion to one.

They drive/handle pretty nice, but they are super un-reliable when put up to the task of "track/autox duty"

They have a kit for about 13k (if I remember right) to do a full ls2/t56 swap and make it a real badass car...

I'm 6'4 and fit pretty good in most cars, even a miata/s2k I can drive around pretty comfortably... in the saturn sky, hell no i couldn't drive around in it, its THAT small.

Wow that is surprising. They look so roomy.

Now that I own a Z4, I am convinced every passionate motoring enthusiast should own a roadster at some point in life. The experience is just that good.

The Red Line version was the only one worth looking at. Otherwise a ~3000 lbs 16x hp car just doesn't do it for me.

The pontiac solstice coupe, not the convertible, was great looking and handled great. Unfortunately, pontiac was axed after only a handful were made and sold.

My sister has a Sky, and loves it. That said, its not a bad little car. Unfortunately, they came out right near the end of both their product lines. Would have been nice to see how those "fraternal twins" (they were the same car under the skin) would have evolved. I have a feeling we would have liked the result.
