I'll tell ya's right now, no way I'm paying $43k.... Even Civic type R's are $40k drive away, and they're fully loaded....

i didnt ask about deposit because with NO information i ain't thinking about putting one cent down without info/specs/price or something concrete
When they say they are trying to get it past adr that mean adr have test cars?

Damn him I don't want it to be 43k.

We can get wrx for that money.

Yeah I'm with u no money going down till i have facts.

Hi Scott,

Pricing for FT86 is not confirmed yet, still negotiating with Toyota in Japan.

All we can say at this stage is we're negotiating for a price starting with a 3.

The launch in Australia is currently scheduled for mid 2012.

Regards.

I have a feeling pricing will be near the Honda Civic Type-R Hatch pricing 40k plus stamp duty, etc. Making it not that much cheaper than a Impreza WRX.

Im hoping the price will be less considering the Australian dollar is at parity with the US dollar.

If it's above 35k I'm out and it would be a damn shame... I guess I'll just go get a Supra, RX8 or 350z.

The way I see it is if it's above 40k I misawell get a 370z or BMW 135i. By that time they'd be that price easily. Just worried about warranty, especially on that BMW...

Around the 32 to 40k price range

Post from the first review:
http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Drives/...2-CAR-review-/

£25,000 = $37,604.44 AUD (not including tarrifs and additional costs)
200hp = 149kw (on 95Ron or 98Ron ???)
170lb = 230Nm
0-100 = 7seconds
Limiter/Max 140mi= 225k/h
Imp 37mpg = 7.63 L/100km

-------

with the second review review:
http://www.autocar.co.uk/CarReviews/...-drive/259779/

£20,000 = 30,095.35 AUD (not including tarrifs and additional costs)
197hp = 146.9027, so 147kw and 230Nm

Slide, huh? They're working towards a price starting with a 3. At the motor show this year I was told it was going to be mid-30's too, and that's from Toyota. Base model should be still around this, maybe getting close to 40k with on-roads in a worst case scenario. I still think that they have to keep it around the mid 30's unless they want people to start looking at other cars.

Ive always expected it was going to be in the high 40s mark for the top model... It wouldnt surprise me if its even in the 50,000 - 55,000 mark... Same with the Subaru version but thats just my guess based on sweet f**k all.... The cheaper it is the more ridiculous the mods ill have.....

If it comes in near 40k, I would like an explanation as to where almost 20k difference from the US market came into the mix.... Also I think I would be really pissed off!! Toyota would have failed as far as it comes to a 'cheap affordable sports car'
