I always had a similar question running through my head regarding aftermarket kits. When it comes to maintenance/repair/upgrades, what are the options and costs..

I wonder how many OEM sourced, cheap and readily available turbochargers would be good match for this motor?

what stress testing, and high heat testing has been done with the one avo stateside test car? anything documenting that its been thru the 111F litmus test at full load?

when is paul coming to PHoenix to do said testing? or will the kit be for sale without this sort of stress testing done by vendor? I want to get on the track with this car.

I will be tracking mine after I get it from Vortech, in Caliofornia, maybe paul can drive down? Thats the only test rig right?

We see 100 degrees here by march...I've cooked turbo bearings by lunch on a car not setup to run cool enough. ymmv

Why would we test the acidity of our turbo kit?

Maybe if you put those pH test strips on the motor somewhere and they burst into flames it is too hot?

Heh...

He means figuratively not literally.

Many people refer to this an experiment to determine the state of a project.

@AVOturboworld I realise extensive testing and tuning has been done but I do have one question, I live in Northern Ontario, the winter here reaches -20°C to -30°C and even colder (-4°F to -22°F). My question is, with the cold weather the air is a lot more dense, will the car still run properly off the base tune, or can I run into over boosting issues? Thank you

With the standard secondary cat in place, you won't be running into overboost (boost spike) issues at those temperatures. Without the secondary cat (catless) or with a high-flow cat, that may change - but you better not be running on a stage 1 basemap at that point anyways!

I suppose he should throw in an oil cooler for free too right?

Unless something changed recently, AVO provides a power solution, not a cooling for track solution.

If a car you owned wasn't setup to run cool enough, that's YOUR (or whomever you paid to setup the car's cooling system's) fault.

I wouldn't have called East Coast Supercharging if my coolant boiled over on my corvette because they sold me a cam/heads and flycut my pistons. Nor would I call Carbotech if my brake fluid boiled over when they sell the pads only.

Nothing complete - Tokyo Auto Salon took a big dent out of our time, and our next big task is getting Stage 1 kits in boxes and out to customers!

But that's not to say there isn't anything going on - the AVO FR-S has been through some power abuse on a dyno, and we've certainly seen some gains. Waiting on some exhaust before we go any further.
