Dealer wasn't able to reflash my ECM so they ordered a new one. Also had the fuel pump replaced and they broke the plastic intake cover latch so will need to ask for a new one-they are $50

The dealership put 14 miles (which I think is excessive) on my car when I first brought it in for the Reflash Recall, Crickets, GPS, and Rear Popping noise.... all they fixed was the popping and then order the parts for everything else.
This past Friday I dropped off the car again and they only put on 3 miles when they fixed the crickets, gps, and replaced both taillights. Like some other people posted after driving around since the reflash, revs seem a little different but I also feel the torque dip isn't as bad as it used to be. The best fix is not hearing "GPS Signal Lost" every morning anymore... I have yet to have an issue with the GPS signal after the fix. Crickets never bothered me that much as I usually always have the radio on, but stood outside the car at idle and don't hear them anymore. Taillights were a bonus because I didn't complain about them even though I noticed it once, and I think the Tech just pulled up all the TSB's and did all of them for my car. |

Same for me, but they didn't order a new one for me, instead they said they had link problems and for one car it took over a dozen tries to flash. Thus, they said they will wait for Scion to address the problem before flashing later on.

Mine was the first one they worked on. Kind of like having surgery by a doc that has never done the procedure before.

Lol, in reality I just wish we had an oil cooler to keep the temps down once operating temp is reached.

No, its not a matter of how cool it runs, but how long it takes to get there. And this engine does not run any cooler then a typical passenger car.

Ok, operating temp may be the same but it takes longer to get there. Please provide alternate reasons than the following two for this: the engine generates heat less rapidly than "normal" cars therefor it's less likely to overheat when pushed hard because the delta is smaller, and/or it's more efficient at dissipating heat thus taking longer to getting up to temp and being less likely to overheat when pushed. That is why I say the car "runs cooler", I'm not just talking about normal operating temp.

I think some others have posted, but I kept forgetting to chime in. After the reflash, yes the car gets up to temp SO MUCH faster than before.
