You'll be impressed with the performance of the knockoff. Download and customize a launcher to suit your liking and it's not a bad little unit. For 400$ can't go wrong! |

Im thinking of installing the Adayo in my car however have a couple of questions,
Does it work exactly like what is stock in the car, Like will the bluetooth, music and radio all work without a problem? Will it be compatible with the Iphone 5? And how do you add more things to it and update it? do you need to bring your laptop in the car? Thanks

Anyone tried the Parrot Asteroid Smart?
http://www.parrot.com/usa/products/a...asteroid-smart ![]() ![]() After looking at some youtube reviews, it looks like it actually uses the same navi program the stock head unit uses (named iGo). I read an article saying that some manufacturers headunits (although they refused to name which ones) are actually based off of a stripped down and highly customized android kernel. wouldn't surprise me if the Fujitsu Ten is one of those units, after seeing the Navi similarities. |

I like that... not bad at all. Have to view some more about it. I'm in no rush though.

The Parrot is pretty unimpressive. I did a bit of research into it and found out that it's under powered and not very easy to use in the car. On top of that, it's expensive.
The best "value" android HU is the ca-fi knockoff. It does everything the Adayo does, but better. And it's cheaper (400$ on ebay). As far as iPhone 5 compatibility. AFAIK, the lightning connector isn't compatible with the older style of connector (which EVERYTHING uses). I think there is an adapter, but it doesn't allow video/audio out? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. You don't need a laptop in the car to put stuff on the head unit. I used a thumb drive formatted using FAT32 to transfer stuff between. And yes head unit stuff works fine. Bluetooth, music and radio all work fine. The Adayo won't let you listen to FM radio and do something else (like Nav) at the same time, though. It's a problem they know about. |

Do you think they will fix the problem with the radio and nav?
Also do you need to connect it with a cable? Would the bluetooth not pick up and u can connect your songs and such that way? I had a carolla that used to do that but this system is a lil more advanced. Sorry if I am been a pain but I defs want a unit just dont want the wrong one!

Unless you like the design of the Adayo that much more than the ca-fi, I would pick up this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Android-2-3-...3a332b&vxp=mtr |

Thats why I'm thinking of doing a tablet install... none of these radio's do everything a tablet would do. I hadn't done any research on it yet. I bookmarked it so I could, but you just saved me some time... back to the drawing board I guess. I'm going to take my time though, I don't want to buy something thats not going to do JUST what I need it to do. Music not working while nav is on is unacceptable.

I'm not sure what you're looking from a tablet that you can't get on one of these units. You will find a lot of problems with using a tablet install. Power on/off? Volume changing without having to fuddle through apps and home screens? quickly switching apps? Sound quality? GPS reception? FM? I'm with you, I did a lot of research with installing a Nexus 7 in my dash before I went the dedicated head unit route. It's just too much of a hassle to actually use in the car for a head unit. Unless you're just gonna mount it on the windshield and use it in addition to the head unit, but I hate having crap all over my dash and wires dangling everywhere. |

Last thing! (Maybe)
Are there any major advantages with the Ca-Fi over the Adayo or is it just the radio? Like I have read your initial post over and over maybe you have found something else out over time? Because I like the look of the Adayo but want the best option for my car
