Hmm there are a few different Subaru harnesses that have been used across the models and years. Wonder if svxdc knows which one is correct...

So after "fiddling" with your Ca-Fi, you can now use GPS offline using downloaded maps? This is pretty interesting!

Able to interface(BT) with OBD readers?

Nice review. I noticed that the unit(s) have Bluetooth, and are android units.
Were you able to get them to interface with aftermarket OBD bluetooth units?

I'm getting the HKS OB-link next week(probably tomorrow) and am looking for a headunit that can interface with it. Saves me having to get a dedicated tablet instead, and offers a much more OEM-look and less crap to attach/leave in the car.

I didn't have to fiddle with it to use downloaded maps, per se. I just had to fiddle with it to download one of the apps that uses downloaded maps. Be-On-Road is readily downloadable from the Market and it uses downloadable maps. I just wanted to test a few different ones. They all seem to run correctly.

I use Be-On-Road now because I liked how smooth and human like the voice sounded.

That's a caveat. These units have Bluetooth, but it's stripped down to only pairing with phones. The Ca-Fi gets around this for Torque only, by allowing USB connections.

It seems that all Android head units lock down the bluetooth services.

Does HKS OB-Link have an android interface?

Yeah, the HKS can interface with android devices as mentioned in this link:
http://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/produc...ink/index.html
The OB-Link uses a software called Carscope.

No idea. Probably to keep the support down on devices other than phones. Since it's a head unit, phones would need to be supported, but they don't want to get calls from people trying to connect keyboards or gamepads and such.

I know on the Ca-Fi unit, their update function is secretly built into the bluetooth app. Or maybe the bluetooth protocol will only work for cell phones is other device connections are disabled?

Pretty normal pricing. the alpine is like 990, then 100 for the adapter cable that coverts to standard toslink. Optical cables do fine as long as they are installed properly.

Not to be a **** but have you dealt with any hi end audio stuff? If not then you would be suprised some of the crazy shit out there.
